How to set goals that last past January in 2023…
Make your goals:
1) Personal (pertaining to me)
2)Possible (something I can do)
If you want to read the Bible this year, start with a book of the Bible
If you want to read a book of the Bible this year start with a chapter.
If you want to read more this year pick a time.
Pick a reading plan, and do this with others.
3)Provable (measurable- you can whether or not it has been achieved)
Set goals for yourself, per week, per month, per quarter (3 months).
4) Dependence - making new disciplines is very hard. We are creatures of habit. Ask the Holy Spirit for strength, intentionality, and discipline as you strive to grow closer to the Lord.
5) Grace - you are going to miss a day of reading or praying. You may fall behind or not reach a goal. There is grace for where we fall short. Keep reading, keep praying, keep serving, keep sharing. The same grace that covers us when we fall short also strengthens us to strive forward!
