Today, all of our Shine Kids learned how Joshua was obedient and trusted the Lord even when it didn’t make sense. God instructed Joshua to march around the city of Jericho once a day for 7 days, which in the end helped the Israelites win the “battle”. Some questions we discussed and you can further talk about at home are:

-Why is obedience important, even when we don't fully understand something?

-What qualities did Joshua show as a leader?

-What is something God or your parents ask you to do that can be difficult sometimes?

-How can you show courage like Joshua?

For the older kids you can also ask about Rahab and how she showed courage and faith.

The past two weeks our Shine Kids have been learning about some of the miracles God performed through Moses. Our 2-3 year olds had fun making their “parting the Red Sea” snack this morning!

We know that God’s presence is with us, just as He was with Moses!

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Our Shine kids have learned about several parables in the Bible. This past Sunday we discussed the Parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin in Luke 15. We KNOW that God values each individual, just like the ONE lost sheep that was found! He rejoices over one repentant sinner! Also, when we seem small and unimportant like the ONE lost coin, God will search for us diligently until we’re found and value us deeply!
