Our Shine kids have learned about several parables in the Bible. This past Sunday we discussed the Parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin in Luke 15. We KNOW that God values each individual, just like the ONE lost sheep that was found! He rejoices over one repentant sinner! Also, when we seem small and unimportant like the ONE lost coin, God will search for us diligently until weā€™re found and value us deeply!

Here are kids camp forms. Iā€™m not sure how good the quality will be when printed out. But if you have the ability to print and bring to church, that would be great! For each camper, it is $100 and the church will cover the rest. There are limited spots, so get your info in asap before it fills up. The deadline is April 1.

This week all of our Shine Kids learned about Jesus getting baptized by John the Baptist. Reread Matthew 3:13-17 with them and talk about what water baptism means. Simply, us wanting to obey God and starting a new life with Jesus.

The past few weeks weā€™ve went through some of our favorite Old Testament Stories. Whatā€™s your favorite?

Itā€™s a tough choice but I think mine is Joseph. Itā€™s just incredible to me how God uses the bad ā€œfor the saving of many livesā€ promoting and redeeming him. These stories always remind me of how BIG God is and how He can do anything! Iā€™m reminded of the scripture in Genesis 18:14 ā€œIs anything too hard for the Lord?ā€ (Speaking of Sarah giving birth in her old age)

About 55 kids in too small of a space yesterday, but we always have a great time! Each group made up motions to Romanā€™s 8:28 and shared them with the rest.

Help your child memorize a new verse each month. They will get a card to keep in their Bible with the monthly verseā€¦Dojo points and prizes are earned for bringing a Bible, attendance, bringing friends, an offering, and now memorizing the monthly verse!

For the first several weeks of September all of Shine Kids learned about the life of Moses! We talked about everything from God speaking to him through the burning bush, to the plagues, to parting of the Red Sea to the 10 commandments, etc. I know even as an adult a favorite movie of mine is The Prince of Egypt! Not all Biblical, but a good illustration of Mosesā€™ life. It would be awesome for families to find time to watch and open up with conversations at home about things they have learned in church!

Elementary School age Shine Kids, today we start earning points with Class Dojo! Your child will earn points for attending, for bringing an offering, bringing a visitor, and for bringing a Bible. We will add in other incentives like memory verses and participation etc. as we continue each week.

This is also a place you can get more info and pictures of whatā€™s going on in the classroom.

Most of you received a letter with a code to connect to our class feed (only 20% have done so.)

Students will cash in their points monthly for prizes!
