When we study the book of Proverbs, we contemplate the mind of God, His character, His attributes, His works, and His blessings. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge expressed in Proverbs are hidden in Christ.

We all encounter storms along the journey of life. There are seasons when our hearts overflow with joy as we celebrate God’s blessings and faithfulness. Yet there are also moments when we walk through trials, burdens, unexpected loss, or illness that can turn our world upside down. In those difficult times, we may wonder how to keep holding on to hope.

King David understood what it meant to suffer. He faced heartache, fear, and even the loss of a child. Yet throughout the Psalms, we see a man who continually turned back to God. David discovered that true hope is not found in circumstances, but in the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Lord.

The Psalms remind us that even in our darkest valleys, we are never alone. God walks beside us, strengthens us, and carries us through every season of life. What may feel like the end is often simply a bend in the road, as God lovingly leads us forward by His grace into the future He has prepared for us.

Join us this summer at Seventh Street Baptist Church for our new sermon series, “Summer in the Psalms.”
