Retirement Celebration and Luncheon — August 30

Suzanne and I would love for you to join us, along with our family, for a very special day this Sunday, August 30, at Seventh Street Baptist Church.

During the 10:30 AM Worship Service, I will share my final sermon as Senior Pastor of Seventh Street Baptist Church, marking the conclusion of a wonderful season of ministry and 40 years of serving the Lord in ministry.

Following the service, our church family will gather for a Retirement Celebration & Luncheon, and Suzanne and I would be honored to have you join our family in celebrating this special milestone.

God has been faithful through every season, every church, in West Africa as Southern Baptist missionaries, and every other step of this journey. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful people He has allowed us to serve and serve alongside throughout these 40 years.

Today, we remember with gratitude Mr. Roy Drinkard, a dear friend of Seventh Street Baptist Church.

Each Christmas, Mr. Drinkard graciously invited us into his beautiful home to sing Christmas carols and enjoy a wonderful reception together. It became a cherished tradition and a special memory for so many of us.

At the conclusion of our caroling each year, Mr. Drinkard always had one request—that we sing the hymn “I’ll Fly Away.” Today, those words carry an especially meaningful reminder.

Mr. Drinkard was a blessing to Seventh Street Baptist Church in a multitude of ways throughout many years. His kindness, generosity, friendship, and support will long be remembered.

Thank you, Mr. Drinkard. We are grateful for your friendship and for the many wonderful memories.
