Mount Moriah Church is a 260 member church and the oldest Methodist congregation in the Charlottesville, Va area. We are a traditional church which seeks higher ground, higher calling, and higher purpose only by following Jesus in our lives.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom and the importance of faith, gratitude, and community.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to pray for the families of those who served and remember the blessings we enjoy each day because of their courage.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
