Churches United in Caring - CUIC Churches United in Caring (CUIC) is a non-profit assistance ministry funded by donations from local churches, the community and our thrift store.

CUIC is a Non-Profit organization run by volunteers for residents of the Crosby, Huffman and Barrett communities. CUIC's Thrift Shop is open Monday-Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM and also accepts donations of gently used items during these hours. The Assistance Center accepts applications on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.

Don't forget, Monday is Memorial Day and CUIC's assistance center and thrift store will be closed. Since we will be closed Monday the End Of the Month Dollar Days Sale will start today, Friday (5/22). Get there before the good stuff is gone!! The thrift store is open 10 am - 2 pm. The toys are arriving… and so is Christmas prep at CUIC!

We are already organizing gifts for local children and making sure toys are Christmas morning ready. That means we need LOTS of batteries.

Current needs:
• AA Batteries
• AAA Batteries

Donations can be dropped off at our donation doors Monday–Saturday, 10 AM – 2 PM.

A simple pack of batteries can make a big difference for a child in our community on Christmas morning.

Today we had our first ever Thanks A Bunch Lunch at CUIC. A light lunch at the store for a little opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to the volunteers who make the CUIC assistance center and thrift store run so smoothly. We are very fortunate to have some of the greatest around. If you want to be a part of the Cream of the Crop come volunteer with us!

I wanted to post this earlier today and say something clever about the beautiful weather and that it would be a great day to shop at CUIC. But evidently a lot of people had the same thoughts because there was a line at the register all day long! It was busy, but such a good day! I continue to be blown away at how our community shows up to shop and support the assistance center & pantry. If you haven’t been to CUIC lately- or ever - you are missing out! Come by Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm, to find treasures, support your community & be a part of the CUIC family!
