DAY 6 — Keep Knocking
Luke 11:9–10 (ESV)
“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

Exhortation
At midnight, a needy, empty-handed man repeatedly knocks on a closed door—that is the audacity of hope. If you are facing a difficult midnight season in your family, finances, ministry, or future, do not give up. Jesus commands you to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. Remember, your hope rests not in the door, but in your good, faithful, and ever-present heavenly Father. Do not walk away just because the answer is delayed; keep knocking.

Reflection
When circumstances contradict your beliefs, hope feels audacious. Even if the door remains closed and the situation unchanged, faith continues to knock. This persistent faith relies entirely on God rather than changing circumstances. You may not know when or how the door will open, but you can trust the Father behind it. He hears your prayers, gives grace, and promises His presence. Bring your needs to Him once more: ask, seek, knock, and anchor your hope in God.

Life Application
Return today to one “closed door” in your life. Pray over it again, surrender the outcome to God, and deliberately choose to trust Him rather than your circumstances.

Prayer
Father God, when I face closed doors and unanswered prayers, keep me from giving up. Give me the audacity of hope to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. Help me trust Your goodness more than my circumstances. May Your Spirit strengthen me and remind me that You are with me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

DAY 5 — Your Father Knows What Is Good

Luke 11:13 (ESV)
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Exhortation
Jesus brings the entire teaching to its beautiful climax by revealing the heart of God: He is Father. The neighbor in the story was hesitant, but the heavenly Father is not. The neighbor had to be persuaded, while the Father delights to give. The neighbor was inconvenienced, but the Father is compassionate. Jesus asks us to reason from the lesser to the greater: if imperfect earthly fathers know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more does our heavenly Father know what is truly good for His children? Sometimes He gives something better, sometimes He gives strength instead of escape, peace instead of explanation, wisdom instead of immediate direction, endurance instead of instant relief, or grace instead of removal. And sometimes the greatest answer is not a changed circumstance but the presence of God Himself.

Reflection
What if the greatest gift God can give you is not the thing you are asking Him to change? Luke 11:13 points us toward something deeper: the Holy Spirit.
God may not always change the situation immediately, but He can strengthen you within the situation. He can give peace in the storm, courage in uncertainty, wisdom in confusion, and endurance in suffering. The greatest blessing is not merely what God puts into our hands, but what God puts into our hearts through His Spirit. You may have come to God asking for an open door, but He may give you His presence while you wait beside the closed one. And His presence is enough.

Life Application
Today, ask God not only for changed circumstances but also for the fullness of His presence and the work of His Holy Spirit in you.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are good and that You know what is best for Your children. Teach me to trust Your provision. When You do not give what I expect, help me receive what You know I truly need. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
