Dear Members of the Concord Stake,

You are amazing! Thank you so much for your generous gift of time and talent to provide comfortable bedding for our brothers and sisters who are homeless and seeking refuge at the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond.

Over the past month and a half, 79 members of our stake donated 316 hours while volunteering to sew and adjust 34 sheets, 57 blankets, and 121 pillowcases for the Bay Area Rescue Mission.

Yesterday we were able to deliver the bedding, and they received it with much joy and appreciation.

Thank you for being wonderful and serving Heaven Father’s children.

Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. That’s why the American Red Cross is rallying volunteers to install 50,000 free smoke alarms nationwide, as part of our Sound the Alarm events.

The American Red Cross is fortunate to be partnering with the Richmond Fire Department for this event.

On Saturday, May 7th from 8 am - 3 pm we’ll:
Install free smoke alarms and share safety information in Richmond, CA. There is no prior experience needed.
Join us for a rewarding day at a Sound the Alarm event and invite others to join you to help save lives.

This annual event features professional dance companies, student dance companies, and youth dance groups from the Bay Area. Bay Area Rescue Mission has a
new building for homeless and abused women
and children, with separate rooms and private bathrooms.

They need bedding for 114 twin-size beds. A company donated boxes of queen- and king- sized bedding. Concord Stake volunteered to help adjust the bedding to size. That’s where you come in!

This Thursday, April 28th from 6:30-8:30pm join us at the hilltop building to help with this service project.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide gather in Salt Lake City twice a year for general conference. For the first time in three years, Rob Gardner's "Lamb of God" oratorio will be presented live on Temple Hill by the Temple Hill Choir along with 13 soloists, narrators, and members of the Temple Hill Symphony Orchestra. All the performers are excited to sing this music again on the stage at the Oakland Temple Hill Auditorium. Alan Chipman conducts this beautiful Easter work.

Performances are Palm Sunday, April 10 and 3 performances on Easter weekend, April 15-17, including a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 16. Tickets that provide early entry for best seats are available at https://templehill.org/lamb-of-god/. There is no charge for tickets. You and your family are invited to join the 25th Annual Cambodian New Year celebration on Temple Hill held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, 5:00pm. This is a family event and open to the public. The program includes cultural performances in the auditorium by youth of the Oakland 10th Branch Walnut Creek Stake and friends, namely the Khmer Angkor Dance Troupe. Following the cultural performances, there will be a cultural game demonstration, traditional costume and artifacts exhibits, raffle giveaway, and DJ music entertainment in the large cultural hall. Please let us know you’re coming by reserving your free-online tickets. Last day to reserve tickets is Friday, March 25, 2022, 9:00pm.
