Ascension Lutheran Church - Columbus, Ohio We are a diverse and welcoming community, of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), in the heart of the Northland area on Morse Road.

We invite you to share with us in God's mercy, forgiveness and grace. Sunday Worship! All are welcome. Please join us in person or on Facebook Live right here at 10:00 each Sunday, primarily alternating between band and organ-led services. Relevant sermons that speak to today's issues and faithfully proclaim the grace of Jesus. If you miss it, it will be posted here as well.

Do you know the old song that goes “When the storms of life are raging, stand by me”? That song is about the gospel for this coming Sunday. Come to worship at 10:00 this Sunday (August 9th), to encounter Christ standing by you, no matter the storms, and to stand with others, to be the presence of Christ for them.

You're invited to a special morning of outdoor worship, music, and fellowship at Ascension on Sunday, June 21st!
Worship begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a concert by the Central Ohio Brass Band under the direction of Benjamin Coy and a community picnic. Bring a lawn chair and a dish to share—hot dogs and hamburgers provided.

Who Are Our Neighbors? A Discussion led by CRIS
In response to the congregation’s conversation at our annual meeting about how we might be a safe place for all in our community, you are warmly invited to be part of this learning opportunity. …. Join us in person for a critical conversation with Teresa Gibson of Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS) as we explore who our immigrant and refugee neighbors are, how they arrive in the United States, the contributions they make in Central Ohio, the urgent challenges many families face amid policy changes, and how our community can respond with compassion and support.

Speaker Bio: Teresa Gibson is the Community Engagement Coordinator at CRIS. She trains and supports faith-based and community groups who volunteer to befriend newcomers in the Columbus area. She has been in this role since late 2021. She has worked with refugees and volunteers for over thirty years.
