Are you interested in serving immigrants and refugees? WE NEED YOU!!

Our ESL Program is in need of in-person and online volunteers. Teaching experience is NOT necessary!! All classes utilize prepared curriculum including lessons, activities, etc. Classes take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

We are excited to be kicking off our ESL classes in September! If you or someone you know would like to join us, we’d love to have you.

We will have daytime classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 10 am and evening classes on Tuesdays starting at 7 pm.

We are offering a free workshop virtually over Zoom called Navigating Life in Columbus for internationals who have recently moved to Columbus and have some proficiency in English.

Among other things, you will learn
• How to get a credit card
• How to find a doctor
• How to get a drivers license
• Traffic laws
• Places of interest

We want to invite you to join us in serving immigrants! Thursday, January 21st, from 11:30 am – 1 pm we are offering a free online training to explore ways to serve our international community through ESL classes and conversation hours, calling current or former students (see below), or tech hosting classes. During the training, we’ll cover various ways to serve in these areas. To register, email [email protected].

A new way to spread kindness:
We are looking for Spanish, French, and Arabic speakers to connect with current and former students. English speakers are welcome too! We have hundreds of students we would like to reach out to and say hello to. If interested, please join the training, or just send us an email.

We know this is the time of the year we all hear of many opportunities to support those in need. We'd like to share one with the understanding that we're not wanting to burden you with obligation!

Vineyard Columbus members have been serving Maize Elementary School in northeast Columbus for a couple decades and we have been providing Thanksgiving meal baskets for the last few years. Nearly 50% of students at Maize are English language learners. If you or your small group would like to partner with us to provide Thanksgiving meals, we would love to have you along. Please see the image for the list of items we are collecting. If you are interested in serving the families of Maize in this way, please email us at [email protected], and we will arrange the most convenient drop off/pick up options for you that we can.
