Good morning!

Come join us this week as we look at John 5:30-47. Jesus continued his rebuke of those who accused him of sin for healing on the Sabbath. He returned their accusations with one of his own - that they have refused the Messiah despite all the witnesses that testified to him. Jesus did not come on the scene unannounced. Between John the Baptist’s testimony, his own miracles, and the Scriptures, the Jews had no excuse, but they still refused Christ. Refusing the Son means to refuse the Father and face the judge. Ironically, the same law they accused Jesus of breaking would accuse them in return. But there is hope! To all who see and hear and come to Christ, there is no judgement, only life!

Join us this Lord’s Day as we continue our study through the Gospel of John in our series, Knowing Jesus.

This week we look at John 5:18-29. Jesus responded to his critics about working on the Sabbath. He explained that he can only do what the Father does, meaning they are united in effort and purpose as much as they are united in essence and will. God the Son must do as God the Father does because they are one! He then laid before them a choice: believe the Son and receive eternal life, or don’t and face judgement. That is the choice before us all. Those critical Jews were focused on the letter of the law and not the spirit, and missed an opportunity to obey the law by showing mercy to the cripple. I think we all miss the point at some time or another. We too can focus on the wrong things and fall short of what God intends for us… which is in itself sin. But the good news is this — the offer of grace is always before us… despite our failings.

Join us this Lord’s Day as we continue our study through the Gospel of John in our series, Knowing Jesus.

This week we will be looking at John 5:1–18, where Christ, the author of our salvation and One who is equal with the Father, heals the lame man at the Pool of Bethesda on the Sabbath, stirring the anger of the Jewish leaders.

This passage reminds us that Jesus Himself is the object of our faith. We are not called to cling to empty rituals or man-made religion, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through His Word, worshipping the risen King in spirit and truth.

What do you need to let go of in your life so your focus can be fully fixed on Christ?

Come “pick up your bed and walk” with us this morning as we refocus our hearts and attention on Jesus Christ.

Join us Sunday at 10am!

This week we look at John 4:46-54. An official approached Jesus for help with his dying son. He had heard of all the healings and miracles Jesus had performed. He was desperate and had no where else to turn. He believed that Jesus could heal his son like all the others. He implored Christ to come with him. Jesus then did something the man did not expect… nothing. He told the man to go home and trust his word. The man did, and when he arrived, he came to believe Jesus could do far more than heal the body.

Join us Sunday at 10am, and stay for our Fellowship Meal after service!

This week we look at John 4:31-45. On the heels of describing “Living Water,” Jesus describes true “Food” - doing the will and work of his Father. The focus shifts from salvation to the gospel ministry that brings people to saving faith. Jesus showed his disciples the mission he was on with the Samaritan women, then invited his disciples into that mission. All the world is a field, ripe for the harvest, and as Christians, we are called to work the fields… and our reward is the share in the fruit!

There is No Sunday School this week.

Join us Sunday at 10am!

This week we look at John 4:1-30. Jesus encountered a woman from Samaria at a well. Breaking societal norms, he asked her for a drink and what followed was a conversation about the gospel. She wanted water to drink; Jesus offered water to live! Because we are in Christ, we have that same water and we have that same offer. We too can use ordinary encounters to share it with others that they too may live. The woman from Samaria “did not know” what she truly needed until Jesus explained it to her. The same is true of most of our world today. The gospel is not just good news, it is the water of life.

Join us Sunday at 10am!

This week we look at John 3:22-36. John the Baptist is back, but his disciples don’t quite understand his mission. They see Jesus as competition. John set’s them straight, though. In doing so he models for us Christian maturity. Speaking of Jesus, he said “He must increase, but I must decrease.” For John (and for us) it must be all about Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and there is no other — not John, not you and I, not any other. The good news is, Jesus is enough!

Join us Sunday at 10am!

This week we look at John 3:16… and 17, and 18, and 19, 20, and 21. John 3:16 is a very familiar passage to most everyone. It tells us of God’s love and his plan for salvation in the Son. It also reminds us of the condition of all mankind without Christ. All fall short of the glory of God, and all stand condemned before our creator, but for Christ. Jesus did not come to condemn the world because it already stood condemned in sin. Jesus came to shine the light of salvation that he would earn on our behalf. All we need to do is receive it. Why do some choose not to? While we can ponder that question for eternity, the better question to ponder is “will you?”
