A week at camp begins long before the first camper arrives.

Helmets are checked. Equipment is inspected. Cabins are prepared. Waterfront systems are reviewed. Volunteers and staff step into place with care and intention.

At Lakeside Bible Camp, preparation matters because caring well for campers matters.

All volunteers complete background checks, trained lifeguards oversee waterfront activities, and qualified nurses help care for health needs throughout the summer.

These quiet preparations make space for what camp does best: helping kids grow in faith, friendship, and confidence.

The Lakeside Salmon Bake is one of summer’s most anticipated traditions.

Fresh Alaskan salmon cooked over alder fire pits, shared tables, familiar faces, and a setting that makes people linger longer than planned.

This is more than dinner. It is a gathering people return for year after year.

Girls Camp II marks the beginning of summer at Lakeside Bible Camp.

It is the week the waterfront opens, the climbing wall comes alive again, and cabins begin filling with laughter, friendship, and the rhythms of camp life.

This summer, girls attending Girls Camp II will also hear from Kris Repp, whose life and ministry have taken her around the world serving through medical missions, disaster relief, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

With years of experience as both an emergency room nurse and missionary, Kris brings a perspective shaped by compassion, courage, and deep trust in Christ. Her teaching will invite girls to see how faith in Jesus speaks into both everyday life and the wider world God has made.

We’re excited to share that the Lakeside Bible Camp Board of Directors has officially hired Bryon Mengle as the next Executive Director of Lakeside Bible Camp.

Bryon brings extensive experience in church, parachurch, and youth ministry, along with a heart for camp ministry and helping young people encounter Jesus.

The Board unanimously believes Bryon is uniquely gifted for this role and for the future of Lakeside. He is a trusted leader and communicator who builds relationships easily, encourages those around him, and brings strong vision for the future of the ministry.

Bryon will begin serving at Lakeside in mid-June as Summer Staff Director and will officially transition into the Executive Director role this fall as Ed Kelley retires after many faithful years of leadership and service.

Please join us in welcoming Bryon and praying for this transition season at Lakeside Bible Camp.

Together they bring a wealth of experience and new passion to the ministry of Lakeside.
