Is there anything better than celebrating the 2nd day of Spring than being outside, walking in nature, and surrounded by friends?

Join us on our 2nd walk while exploring another trail offered by The Whidbey Camano Land Trust. This week - a walk to a secluded beach!

Saturday, March 21, 9 am.

Possession Sound Preserve,

parking at 7086 Humphrey Rd, Clinton.

It is only 1 mile round trip, but down a substantial hill and then all the way back up. The payoff is the undeveloped beach, views and lovely forests. It is perfectly fine to walk very slowly back up the huge hill; there are lots of benches to sit on and enjoy the magnificent view.

Spring is calling you and wants you to get outside and go for a walk in the woods!! Let's answer the call together.

Join us the Saturday, March 14th at 12 noon.

We will be walking the Maxwelton Trust Trail. The trail head is just off HWY 525 on Craw Road.

There is plenty of easy in and out parking spaces! The walk is mostly in forested areas so we should be comfortable rain or shine.

If this discussion is anything like the first in the Genesis series, we all will face a different kind of flood and leave feeling buoyed up.

Let's celebrate Lent, Spring, and the return of the sun by going outside and experience nature all around us.

This month's Community Connection nonprofit is Whidbey Camano Land Trust. This group has worked tirelessly to provide our community with a large offering of fantastic trails to walk. So, this month we are offering 3 Saturdays to meet up and experience our backyard trails together.

We will meet rain or shine so dress for the weather!

Saturday, March 14th, noon. Trustland Trails.

Saturday March 21st, 9 A.M. Possession Sound Preserve

Saturday, March 28th, 10 A.M. Glendale Beach Preserve

Details and directions to each location will be posted here, the weekly newsletter, and on a flyer at the church.

Get those walking shoes and poles dusted off. Fill your water bottle and grab your camera. Let's go walking together!!!

Guided Mindfulness Sessions

Wednesday, Feb. 25th

Lent is a time of deep reflection, a special opportunity to remember what is most important about our faith, and what matters most in our lives. Mindfulness is a practice that can help us deepen that process of reflection, while connecting in more heartfelt ways with each other.

Kurt Hoelting will be offering a four-week series of guided mindfulness sessions, followed by conversations about how Lent can help us deepen our faith practice, in the sanctuary during four Weds evenings in Lent - Feb. 25, March 4, 11, & 18, from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.

All are welcome, and no previous experience with mindfulness is necessary.

Hey! Have you noticed this Spring that timing is a little "off"? Have you noticed flowers blooming a little early? Our dear Earth just can't contain the glory of Spring any longer.

To celebrate Earth and the dawning of Spring our First Sunday Potluck is NOT a potluck! We will be blessed with an offering of vegan foods from those who know just how to make it vegan!

No need for you to bring anything to this event. Just come as you are and let the Earth bless you as only she can. 😊

Pastor John is offering another series of Sunday studies after the 10 A.M. service. The series for Lent is a dive into and reflection of the book of Genesis.

John offers profound insights and historical factors that will help us interact with this book in a new way.

The series starts Sunday, Feb. 22nd.
