AS THE SEASONS CHANGE, SO DO WE… A NEW SEASON OF FAITH, LEADERSHIP, AND PURPOSE
There is something beautiful about the changing of seasons. As the leaves begin to turn and one season gives way to another, we are reminded that change is a natural part of life. Every season has its purpose. Some are for planting, others for growing, some for harvesting, and others for preparing for what is yet to come.
As we enter November 1, 2026, Heaven's Army and I are stepping into a new season.
After much prayer, wise counsel, and careful consideration, I am excited to announce that Mr. Kolton Parham Purvis and Mrs. Faith Purvis will officially become the Executive Directors of Heaven's Army Home of Amazing Grace, effective November 1, 2026. I will remain Founder/CEO and active board member, while they assume responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and continued development of the ministry.
Other than raising my children and being Grammy to my grandchildren, for more than 16 years, Heaven's Army has been one of the greatest callings and privileges of my life.
What began in 2010 as a vision God placed in the heart of a woman who had experienced trauma, brokenness, addiction, and the transforming power of His grace has become a ministry that has touched the lives of thousands of women, families, and communities.
It has been a journey of incredible victories, heartbreaking losses, difficult decisions, personal sacrifices, and lessons that have shaped me both spiritually and professionally.
I have always believed that one of the greatest responsibilities of a good leader is to prepare, equip, empower and deploy those who will one day carry the vision forward.
What makes this transition especially meaningful is that these two leaders are my son and daughter-in-love.
Faith is a powerful woman of God and a graduate of Heaven's Army Home of Amazing Grace. For the past five years, she has faithfully served alongside me. I have watched her grow, overcome challenges, and develop into the woman and leader she is today.
She doesn't just understand the mission of Heaven's Army. She has lived it.
Kolton has witnessed this ministry from its very beginning. He was there when his mother came out of jail, determined to change her life, restore her family, and make a difference in the lives of others and her community. He has seen firsthand the faith, sacrifices, struggles, and perseverance required to build something from the ground up.
Together, they bring unique strengths, personal experiences, spiritual maturity, and a sincere desire to see Heaven's Army expand and reach new levels of ministry.
Will they be perfect leaders? Absolutely not! Neither was I, nor am I today. Leadership requires humility, wisdom, courage, and a willingness to learn through both successes and mistakes. I have complete confidence in their hearts, their calling, and their ability to carry this ministry forward.
AND AS HEAVEN'S ARMY BEGINS THIS NEW CHAPTER, I AM EXCITED ABOUT MY OWN JOURNEY AHEAD.
While continuing to serve as Founder/CEO and networking for Heaven's Army, I will be shifting my primary focus toward growing and developing my personal business, Voicing Up International, LLC, and Leadership East Texas, where I serve as Chief Operating Officer.
Through more than 16 years of working with survivors of trauma, abuse, addiction, and broken relationships, along with building and leading a nonprofit organization, I have gained invaluable experience that no classroom alone could have taught me.
Every challenge, every lesson, every person I have served, and even my own personal journey have contributed to preparing me for the opportunities ahead.
Through Voicing Up International, LLC, I will continue expanding my work in coaching, consulting, public speaking, education, character development, leadership training, trauma-informed programs...and I'm currently writing my second book. My passion is to empower individuals, strengthen families, and help people recognize that their past does not have to determine their future.
Through my role as COO of Leadership East Texas, I have the privilege of bringing together leaders from businesses, education, government, law enforcement, and nonprofit organizations. My vision is to expand leadership opportunities, develop innovative programs, build stronger partnerships, and help equip individuals who will positively influence the future of our East Texas communities.
Both opportunities allow me to apply the knowledge, education, training, relationships, and real-life experiences I have gained while continuing to grow personally and professionally. I am not leaving behind the calling God placed on my life. I am embracing the opportunity to carry it into new areas of purpose and influence.
TO OUR COMMUNITIES, CHURCHES, PARTNERS, DONORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND FRIENDS… THANK YOU!
From the depths of my heart, I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the love, prayers, generosity, encouragement, and support you have shown Heaven's Army and me personally throughout these years.
You believed in a vision, stood beside us during difficult times, celebrated our victories, and helped make it possible to impact the lives of so many women and families not just locally but around the world.
I have never taken your support, your trust, or your generosity for granted.
Heaven's Army was never built by one person. It has been built through faith, sacrifice, obedience, and the dedication of people who came together believing that lives could be changed through the love of our Heavenly Father.
As Kolton and Faith step into their new responsibilities, I humbly ask that you extend to them the same love, encouragement, prayers, and support you have so graciously shown me.
Give them room to grow, develop their own leadership, and pursue the vision God places on their hearts. My prayer is that they will not simply maintain what has been established, but build upon it and accomplish even greater things.
I will be there to mentor, encourage, and support them while allowing them the freedom to lead.
ECCLESIASTES 3:1 REMINDS US: "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."
Sometimes God uses the very experiences that stretch us, challenge us, and change us to prepare us for a purpose greater than we could have imagined.
As November 1st approaches, my heart is filled with gratitude for where we have been and great expectation for what lies ahead. The season is changing. The next generation is rising. New opportunities are unfolding. And God's purpose continues.
Here's to embracing change, trusting God's direction, and believing that the greatest impact of our lives is still ahead of us!
With heartfelt love and gratitude,
LaNora Purvis
