When someone hurts us, our first response is often to complain to others, hold a grudge, or walk away. Instead, Jesus calls us to approach that person with charity and honesty, seeking not to win an argument but to win back a brother or sister. Fortunately, we do not have to do this alone – we journey in faith together as a Catholic Community! See you at Mass – bring a friend!

Saint Gregory was content living the quiet life of a monk, yet whenever the Church called upon him, he responded with humility and obedience. Though he would have preferred the solitude of monastic life, he willingly set aside his own desires to serve God's people, especially when he was chosen to become Bishop of Rome. Once entrusted with this responsibility, Gregory dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the mission, using his wisdom, energy, and gifts for the good of the Church. His vision of bishops as spiritual physicians caring for wounded souls echoes Pope Francis' image of the Church as a "field hospital," bringing God's healing and mercy to those most in need.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of a new month and for the countless blessings You have given me! As I begin these new days, I place my life, my family, my work, and all my hopes into Your loving hands. Help me grow closer to You this month through prayer, the Sacraments, and acts of charity. Open my heart to recognize Your presence in both joys and trials, knowing that You are always with me.

May September be a month of faith, hope, and abundant blessings.

Yesterday we celebrated Saint Monica, whose steadfast prayers for her son never wavered. Today, we honor Saint Augustine, the answer to those prayers! Saint Augustine's conversion transformed one of history's greatest thinkers into one of Christianity's most influential saints and theologians. After years of searching for truth in philosophy, worldly success, and other belief systems, Augustine embraced the Catholic faith in 386 and was baptized by St. Ambrose in 387.

In a world of instant answers, quick purchases, and immediate gratification, patience can be hard to practice. We often expect our prayers to be answered just as quickly. Saint Monica reminds us that God's timing is not our own. Through years of faithful prayer, perseverance, and unwavering trust, she witnessed the conversion of her husband, her mother-in-law, and ultimately her son, Saint Augustine. Today, on her Feast Day, may Saint Monica inspire us to never give up, to keep praying with hope, and to trust that God’s timing is always guided by love.
