St. Faustina Catholic Church

St. Faustina Catholic Church To create awareness about our fundraising events for our construction fund to build a permanent church and about the Divine Mercy devotion. We are the FIRST St.

Faustina Catholic Parish in the United States. St. Faustina is the first female Polish saint and the first saint of the 21st century to be canonized by Blessed Pope John Paul II. Faustina Catholic Church started out in a hotel in 2006 and moved to a small rental building later that same year which we quickly outgrew. Christmas 2010, we moved to a larger rental facility where masses are now said a

nd parish business conducted. We are in the process of fundraising to construct a permanent church building on Hwy 27 in Lake County, a short distance from our present location. We also are devoted to the call of St. Faustina to be a beacon of God's Divine Mercy.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with lively sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Prayer for Protection From a Hurricane

O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed Your order and returned to its former quietude. You are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land, and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a stormless eternity awaits us. Amen.

Divine Mercy Daily

Daily reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

I Get Ingratitude

Meditation:
If the priest had not brought Me to you, I would have come Myself under the same species. My daughter, your sufferings of this night obtained the grace of mercy for an immense number of souls (Diary, 1459).

In return for My blessings, I get ingratitude. In return for My love, I get forgetfulness and indifference. My Heart cannot bear this (Diary, 1537).

My Prayer Response:
Lord Jesus, through the intercession of St. Faustina, may her great love for You in the Eucharist and her sufferings for souls be a reparation for me and all souls for our lack of gratitude, forgetfulness, and indifference to Your Love in the Holy Eucharist. Saint Faustina, pray for us that we may worthily receive Holy Communion.

Quote of the Day
“In order to be an image of God, the spirit must turn to what is eternal, hold it in spirit, keep it in memory, and by loving it, embrace it in the will.” -St. Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein)

Today’s Meditation
"We've been taught that God did not make the world for no reason, but for the sake of the human race. As I said before, he takes pleasure in those who imitate his attributes, and is displeased with those who embrace what is worthless, whether in word or deed." —St. Justin Martyr, p. 324

Daily Verse
Let me hear in the morning of thy steadfast love, for in thee I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to thee I lift up my soul. Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies! I have fled to thee for refuge! Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God! Let thy good spirit lead me on a level path! For thy name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life! In thy righteousness bring me out of trouble! And in thy steadfast love cut off my enemies, and destroy all my adversaries, for I am thy servant. -Psalm 143: 8-12

Saint of the Day

St Justin Martyr
St. Justin Martyr (100–165 A.D.) was a pagan philosopher from Samaria. After meeting a Syrian Christian who convinced him that the biblical prophets were more trustworthy in the pursuit of truth than worldly philosophers, St. Justin renounced his paganism and studied Sacred Scripture. The bold witness of the early Christian martyrs led to his own conversion to the Catholic faith. St. Justin then used his philosophical and rhetorical skills to defend Christianity, the "true philosophy," against rival pagan philosophies and political powers which maligned and persecuted the Church. He traveled throughout Asia Minor teaching, arguing, and persuading others to accept baptism and follow Christ, before arriving in Rome where he settled and started his own school. Justin was arrested for his faith in Rome and ordered to make sacrifice to false gods, which he refused. He was martyred by beheading along with several of his students. Justin Martyr is famous for writing the Church's first "Apology," or defense of the Christian faith, showing that Christianity was superior to the pagan religions, and that Christians were model citizens and should not be mistreated. His writings are a prime source of the history of the primitive Church in worship and sacraments, including the Holy Eucharist. He is one of the first great apologists of the Church, and for this he is the patron saint of speakers, apologists, and philosophers. His feast day is June 1st.

Daily reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

The Most Tender of Mothers

Meditation:
In order that you may know at least some of My pain, imagine the most tender of mothers who has great love for her children, while those children spurn her love. Consider her pain. No one is in a position to console her. This is but a feeble image and likeness of My love (Diary, 1447).

My Prayer Response:
Lord Jesus, I pray that my fervent and loving reception of You in Holy Communion may be a consolation to You. I cannot begin to imagine Your pain when souls receive You indifferently. Help me to love You more deeply and tenderly.

Daily Feast

On the first Sunday after Pentecost the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. This revealed doctrine of God's nature is that the eternal God is one in essence and being, yet three distinct persons—God the Father, God the Son (the Incarnate Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This is the central and greatest mystery of the Christian faith. An everlasting and loving union with the Holy Trinity is the final end for which mankind is created. The divine inner life of the Holy Trinity is generously given to us as sanctifying grace through the Church's Sacraments, which is fully and perfectly possessed by the saints in heaven.
