What is the most important question you've ever been asked? Here, echoed by the rich young ruler, we see the most important question that you can ask: what must I do to inherit eternal life? While a man with a lot to lose (and a lot more to gain) approaches Jesus and asks Him this eternal question, he hangs his head down and walks away when receiving the answer. Following Jesus, by his estimation, simply would've cost him too much. What did salvation cost Christ?

Virtually every Christian can identify with the father's desperate words: "I believe; help my unbelief." In Mark 9, Jesus returns from the Mount of Transfiguration to meet a father pleading for his demon-possessed son. Through this passage, we were challenged to examine the tragedy of unbelief and encouraged to place our faith fully in Christ.

Following the message, we observed Communion together as we remembered Christ's sacrifice for us.
