Highlights from Under the Patio Lights fall kickoff!

Everyone sampled tasty chili at the chili cook-off, toasted s'mores around the fire pit, and enjoyed listening to live music by Taylor Fletcher and The Fake Blues.

The kids had a blast with a petting zoo, bouncy house, and outdoor games. And the very best part? Spending time together, sharing laughs, and enjoying fellowship with our Cypress family!

Does my life matter?
Does my life count for something greater?

We all have this deep desire—to live lives of lasting significance. But in a culture increasingly shaped by entitlement and self-centeredness, it's easy to become so focused on ourselves that we lose sight of what really matters.

The truth is, we can't live for more when we're only living for me. Jesus Himself modeled this by giving His life for us, and He invites His followers to embrace that same way of living.

Our lives really can count for something greater when we join Jesus in His mission. It can begin with a simple act of love, a willingness to put someone else first, or an intentional relationship with someone God has placed in our lives.

The question is, who does God want to bless through you?

We have a new puppet friend at our Imagination Station at Cypress Kids who will be joining us this Sunday for the very first time! We need your help in giving this cute baby gorilla a name! He is sweet and he is crazy about bananas! What do you think his name should be? Submit your name ideas into the comments! Note: the puppeteer holding him already has a name, it's Braydon 😆

Does your life matter?
Absolutely!

In a world that often measures the significance of our lives by our careers, accomplishments, influence, or success, God has called each of us to a life set apart for His purposes. God can work through us wherever He has placed us and through whatever work He has given us to do.

You are made by God to make a God-shaped difference in the world, which means your life matters—and wherever you are right now can become a place where God works through you for the good of others.

We let our staff out to play this week and they had a fun afternoon playing mini-golf! Taylor and Dave were tied for the win so they shot it out for the title. But with his gameface on, there's no way Dave wasn't going to pull out the win!

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸🌿

Today, we celebrate the work of our hands and the opportunity to pause, rest, and give thanks for the blessings God has provided.

However your day unfolds, we hope you find time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the people you love. 💚

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

What does it mean when we say our mission is to "bring everyone closer to God"?
It's about helping others follow Jesus throughout our faith journey as we pursue Jesus together, practice the ways of Jesus, and partner in the mission of Jesus together.
