A present church in life and community - Welcome Home. FAQ's

Is SCC associated with a denomination? What should I wear to church?

We left the United Methodist Denomination and are now an independent church focused on creation community centered on Christ. We are a "come as you are" styled church body. You'll see people in a suit jacket and other people in shorts. Do you have children's ministry? We have Salem Kids which is a child catered worship experience built to be clean, safe, and fun. All our Salem Kid Leaders are background checked and trained to give your children the best experience and opportunity to encounter Jesus. Who attends Salem Community Church? Since departing the UMC we have become a blend of young and old, single and married, those with and without children. All come from various denominational backgrounds but are hungry for the presence of Jesus.

Help us wish a very Happy Birthday to Hope N Joey Zarzana, our Maintenance & Facilities Coordinator!

Joey does an incredible job working alongside Terry to keep our church clean, maintained, and ready for ministry each week. Beyond the things we see, Joey has made countless behind-the-scenes improvements and upgrades that help our facilities operate more efficiently, run more smoothly, and save money. Much of his work goes unnoticed, but the impact of his hard work, creativity, and dedication is felt throughout our church!

We're grateful for Joey, his wife Hope, and all they mean to our Salem family. Join us in celebrating Joey today!

New things are happening at Salem!

This week, our sound and video systems are receiving a major upgrade as we continue investing in the tools that help us serve people well—both in the room and online.

These updates will improve the clarity of our sound, strengthen our livestream and video capabilities, and better equip our worship and production teams for years to come.

We’re grateful for everyone who has helped make this possible, and we can’t wait for you to experience the difference this Sunday!

Here are a few behind-the-scenes pictures of the work happening this week.
