Yesterday, the Garden of Remembrance celebrated the groundbreaking for our Peggy & Stan Smith Family Welcome Center. Joining us for the celebration was Montgomery County Councilmember, Marilyn Balcome, shown below with members of our Board of Directors, Advisory Committee, Staff, and Contractor, Whiting-Turner. Our appreciation to Peggy & Stan Smith and all of our generous donors. After 26 years working out of a "temporary" maintenance shed/office, we look forward to helping bereaved families, meeting those making pre-need plans, and assisting loved ones designing memorial monuments in a beautiful, comforting, and appropriate setting.

Thinking of my friend and colleague, Mark Greenstein, on his 25th Yahrzeit. Mark was the executive director of Washington Hebrew Congregation when they purchased the land for the Garden of Remembrance. Unfortunately, he died much too young and never saw the memorial park come to fruition. May his memory forever be an inspiration. Miss you, Mark!
