First Baptist Church West College Hill Reaching the World Without Sacrificing the Message

Christ-Centered Word-Focused Ministry-Minded

Vision: We will be a church community where diverse people experience God’s radical love and acceptance, find opportunities to grow and nurture their faith, and then rise to the challenge of sharing that love, acceptance and faith with the world. Identity: We are a church where:
• Christ is the center of our lives
• The Bible is our spiritual authority and the basis of our belief
• We worship pray

erfully with reverence and joy
• Children are blessed and families are nurtured in the spirit of Christian love
• Freedom in Christ is the birthright of every believer
• Caring for one another through living relationships, rich fellowship and shared concerns is the heartbeat of our life

Our Purpose: We therefore covenant together to:
• Earnestly follow Christ in a spirit of servitude, seeking His guidance in our daily lives and justice in our world.
• Study the scriptures with faithfulness, openness of mind and heart, and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
• Commit ourselves to the worship of God through sound preaching, inspirational music, prayer, and a personal devotional life.
• Prepare our children, youth, and adults for a life that accepts the forgiveness found within God’s grace.
• Actively support an energetic missions program at home and throughout the world.
• Care for and minister to each other, the needy, and the lost of the world. Core Values: While we honor and value diversity in private belief and interpretation of scripture and the gospel, the following serve as guiding principles for how we do ministry, missions and church management:
• The Oneness of God
• God’s Revelation in Jesus
• The Holy Spirit
• The Centrality of Worship
• The Significance of Christian Nurture
• The Importance of Growth
• The Community of God’s People
• Need for Reconciliation
• Commitment and Responsibility
• Historic Baptist Principles

Catch the excitement, witness the joy, help shape the Vision!

As we enter a new month and gather on this Labor Day Weekend, we invite you to begin September in the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝.

Many of us will come carrying something. The responsibilities of another week. The concerns of our families. The demands of work and life. The weight of decisions still to be made. Perhaps even a weariness we cannot quite explain. But we do not gather because we have everything figured out. 𝐖𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬.

This Week’s Sermon by Pastor King: “𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭” - 𝐄𝐱𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐬 𝟑𝟑:𝟏𝟒 (NIV)

Come expecting. Come believing. Come worship with us!

Just as important as our worshipping and praising God, is our continued commitment to giving and sowing seeds to our church ministry. To the FBCWCH Family, that would be paying our tithes. To our Friends and Loved Ones, that would be prayerful consideration of giving an offering. In either case, please know that your support (all of your support), helps us, helps you, and helps others.

You may mail your checks to: First Baptist Church West College Hill, 6210 Betts Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224. You may also stop by the church at any time and place your envelope inside the slot of a locked box (on the backside of the church) where our mail is delivered. You may also give online through the church's Givelify Account, just click and it will take you directly to the link. You may use Givelify or mail your offerings to the church. Church Family, Friends, and Community, on Sunday, we gathered around one prayer: “𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋, 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘶𝘴. 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦.” 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝟑𝟑:𝟐, 𝐆𝐍𝐓

And we didn't finish the verse. We weren't supposed to. 😇 Sunday planted this confession: “𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮.” Monday invited us to water it by 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬.

And now, by the time we gather Wednesday, something important will have happened: 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝. We will have faced responsibilities, conversations, decisions, uncertainties, and perhaps some unexpected moments when we discovered again: “𝐌𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.”

That's where Wednesday begins. We are going back to the words we intentionally left waiting for us: “𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠...”

And our conversation will begin with a question you don't have to answer from a Bible study book. You can answer it from 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧?

Come ready to listen. Come ready to reflect. Come ready to share. Come ready to hear what God may have been cultivating not only in you, but in someone else walking with the same Word. We aren't rushing toward another lesson. 𝐖𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Join us Wednesday for Bible Study: Cultivating What God Planted on Sunday.

𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞,

Happy Monday! I pray this message finds you, your family, friends, and loved ones doing well.

As we step into a new week, August 24th, step forward with faith and purpose! Trust that God has already prepared the path ahead. Keep your eyes on Him, share a smile with someone who needs it, and make this week count. You are loved, prayed for, and deeply valued in our church family and community.

Stay encouraged. Stay prayerful. Stay connected. Have a wonderful week! 🙏🏽
