The many incredible moments at Rancho Santa Marta are made possible by an incredible team of organizers. First and foremost, thank you to Marge Peace Troester , who took on the primary role of coordinating our efforts at Rancho Santa Marta for the first time this year. She was supported by Karen Avis, Rick Bentler, and Jan McMahon, who stayed state-side but did an amazing amount of planning. The entirety of this mission trip is possible because of the support of all the people of Faith Lutheran. Thank you all.

Nothing builds character quite like digging ditches. On our first day of work, one group dug a trench in which to pour concrete for the footing of a new office foundation.

This summer, we're focusing on what it means to love in an expansive way. Using scripture to lead us, we will be looking at that which needs loving on our insides, and in the world around us. As a part of this journey, we invite you help us by sharing a photograph or two that lifts up the theme for the week. Our first prompt is...

Loving Neighbor - based on being priests to the nations and (Ex 2) and to continue the mission of Jesus (Mt. 9-10). Share pictures of neighbors you hold dear.

You can share your photos here or send them to [email protected]. The photo shown is from a musical visit between our neighbors at Faith and our neighbors at Prestige. (If you'd like to play music for our neighbors, let us know and we'll connect you with our musicians.)

One of the best parts of having served Rancho Santa Marta for 40 years is that we get to see how our efforts are put to use. Our mission crew arrived today and toured the classrooms that we helped build last year.

The world tells us to look for one person to solve the problem. Jesus calls us to something different: community. We are created for relationship, purpose, and shared mission. Listen to the full sermon from Sunday and join the conversation in the chat:

1. When have you put your hopes in a single individual, only to be disappointed?
2. In what ways do you exist as a distinct individual? In what ways do you exist as a set of relationships?
3. This week, how can you use the relationships you have to create the world you want to live in?
