Chi Alpha Chico State

Chi Alpha Chico State We rely on the the Holy Spirit to help us exalt the Lord Jesus as we ought; transforming the university, the marketplace and the world!

Chi Alpha is a ministry committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to campus communities and beyond in the power of the Holy Spirit, calling students into relationship with Him so they can enjoy fellowship with God now and through eternity! The mission of Chi Alpha is to proclaim the glorious message of God's love demonstrated by the saving work of Christ Jesus by His death on the cross for

our sin and the awesome power of His resurrection, proving that His death is sufficient to put us in right relationship with God the Father! Our mission is to help fulfill the Great Commission on the secular university campus. The Great Commission is found in Matthew 28:18-20 and records the Lord Jesus commanding His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations because He has all authority and power! We baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teach them to obey all that the Lord Jesus has commanded. We are under the Lord’s authority to share the love of God so that students will not perish but have everlasting life through the finished work of Christ Jesus. Our purpose is to turn people from darkness to light, from the dominion of satan to God so that they can come to know and enjoy fellowship with God and with fellow believers. All that we do is done for the purpose of helping the student know the love of God in Christ so they can be filled to all the fullness of God. This will be accomplished not by our might or power, but by the Spirit of the LORD GOD!

Hey Friends!
Peace be with you!

As you wrap up the semester and prepare for your summer activities and work, may you be empowered by the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of the Lord Jesus! He told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Promise of the Father. They waited for 10 days, united in prayer.

When the Day of Pentecost came, they were all together in an upper room and the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them! Wind and fire accompanied the coming of the Holy Spirit, 2 natural forces that cannot be controlled. This does not mean that the Holy Spirit is an uncontrollable force, but the wind and fire are symbolic of His holiness and omnipresent, going throughout the earth according to God's will!

When the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, they began to speak in languages they themselves did not know, but the Holy Spirit enabled them so that multitudes who gathered in Jerusalem for this important feast of Pentecost would here them in their own languages, glorifying God! As a result, 3,000 received the Lord Jesus that day and were added to the church!

The purpose of being baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit is to proclaim the good news of salvation provided by God through Jesus Christ!

Would you like to know and love God with all your heart?
Would you like to be a witness of Christ's love to those who have not yet believed on Him?
Do you desire to tell others about God's abounding love and grace?
Would you like to be a prayer warrior for the Lord and fight against the forces of darkness?
If so, then being baptized in the Holy Spirit is how this will be accomplished.

The Lord Jesus loves us so much He died in our place to bring us back into fellowship with God and then makes us co-workers with Him and empowering us with the Holy Spirit so His work can be done through us. Without Him we are indeed helpless to do anything for the kingdom of God!

If you are not sure you are forgiven of your sin or in right relationship with God, call on the name of the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and He will reconcile you to our Heavenly Father and prepare a place in heaven for you!

Ask the Lord Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire and He will!

What makes for our peace?
Good afternoon!
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, glorious day that reveals that the Lord Jesus is the Messianic King and Savior of the world for all those who put their faith in Him!

In our worship service, we read the gospel accounts of the triumphant entry of the Lord Jesus coming into Jerusalem. In Luke chapter 19:41-42, Luke records what Jesus said as He was approaching the city of Jerusalem,

"And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, 'Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes'" (ESV).

The Greek phrase 'the things that make for peace' imply the things that would lead to peace, bring about peace or make for peace. This has primarily two applications:
1. What would make for peace between the Jews and Romans. In verses 43-44 Jesus goes on to say that Jerusalem will be demolished. In A.D. 70 Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman military.

2. Peace between God and humanity. This is of the greatest importance! It is only through the Lord Jesus that we can have peace with God because only the Lord Jesus can remove the inward sin that makes us enemies with God. God didn't do anything wrong, it was us! We are the ones who have sinned and have rebelled against Him. So what can make for our peace between us and God? The sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus! He is able to remove our pride, rebellion and lust and put us back into fellowship with God! The Lord Jesus is the One who makes for our peace - peace with God and others!

Perhaps you are in desperate need of peace even now! The Lord Jesus can give us peace, His peace remains because He is eternal! Trust in Him even now. Repent, turn from sin and receive His grace. All who come to Him, He will never cast away!
Receive Him and enjoy peace with God!
