We are thrilled to share that The Womanist Prayer Book: We Pray – We Journal – We Connect is officially available to order through Amazon and Barnes & Noble in softcover and hardcover editions. An ebook edition will be available later.

This book is more than a publication. It is a communal testimony—a collection of prayers, reflections, wisdom, lived experiences, and sacred imagination shaped by YOU, womanists and womanist co-conspirators, who believe in the power of prayer, connection, justice, healing, joy, and liberation.

To every person who contributed words, prayers, creativity, encouragement, time, and spirit to this project: thank you. Your contribution matters, your voice is present, and your faithfulness helped bring this vision to life.

Royalties from public purchases will go directly to The Gathering, A Womanist Church, allowing our communal work to continue giving back to the community that helped birth it.

TRAUMA DOESN’T HAVE THE LAST WORD.

This October, McCormick Theological Seminary invites Chicago into a different kind of conversation—one rooted in healing, truth-telling, and the possibility of communal flourishing.

HEALING FORWARD is an intimate public gathering exploring what becomes possible when we understand healing not simply as an individual journey, but as something we practice together.

We’re honored to welcome Cole Arthur Riley, New York Times bestselling author, poet, and spiritual teacher, in conversation with Rev. Dr. Stephanie M. Crumpton.

Through her acclaimed books This Here Flesh and Black Liturgies, Cole has invited readers to embrace a spirituality grounded in dignity, embodied faith, and the healing of the stories we inherit. Her work reminds us that trauma may be part of the human story—but it does not have to determine how the story ends.

Together, we’ll explore a question that feels especially urgent for our time: What becomes possible when healing is something we practice together?

Join us for HEALING FORWARD, presented by McCormick’s Trauma Healing Initiative.
