As we continue our journey toward Jubilee, we honor our Elders, Elder Antonio Watkins and Elder Tina McKinnie who both played a pivotal role in the upbuilding of our ministry.
Elder Watkins started his journey as the church's Minister of Music, teaching our choir to lift up souls through song. However in 2007 he realized he was called to a greater mission and accepted his calling to preach God's word, later being ordained from Minister to Elder. He has served for the past 16 years serving as assistant to Pastor Phillips preaching God's word every 3rd Sunday while still being overseer of the choir. His laid-back preaching style and harmonious singing voice has won the heart of all who have witnessed his ministry through preaching, prayer and song.
Elder Tina McKinnie started her journey in her mother's womb, a young girl born to preach and teach God's word. Elder McKinnie accepted her calling in 2019 and was going to be ordained into the ministry, however covid happened and her ordination had to be postponed. In June of 2021 she was ordained as Elder and she hasn't stopped. She knew her calling was greater than preaching, she had to teach. In 2021 she started a Bible study for the young women of the church which blossomed into a Bible Study for all. She has a teaching style that is both intriguing and engaging.
Together, both Elder Watkins and Elder McKinnie help Pastor Phillips with the day to day functions of the church, preaching and teaching the Free Salvation flock. Being a listening ear or word of wisdom in times when Pastor Phillips couldn't be available. Their continued love and dedication to the gospel has made a lasting impact on the ministry of Free Salvation.
As we honor the leaders, we have to give recognition to the contributions of these two leaders, Elder Watkins and Elder McKinnie. Who have helped with the spiritual growth of Free Salvation.
