Original Providence Baptist Church What is the Worship Experience like? We, welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures. There is no dress code or expectation. What about after the Service?

In 1863, Chicago witnessed the birth of what was then “Providence Baptist Church” as an endeavor of Black people with a dream. 162 Years later, we are STILL STANDING strong, now as the Original Providence Baptist Church of Chicago! - WE ARE OPBC STRONG! Therefore, casual dress including jeans is welcome. Upon entering the sanctuary you will be greeted by an usher who will provide you with a progr

am and assist you in finding a seat. The Worship Experience is a blended style and usually two hours. You’ll be surprised how fast the time goes as we enter into the presence of God through praise and worship, and hear an inspirational message. If you’d like to accept Christ and make OPBC your place of fellowship and worship, please come forward during the invitation. An invitation counselor will lead you to a room to welcome you as part of the OPBC family and help you begin your journey with us.

COME CELEBRATE WITH US!
We’re gearing up to celebrate Original Providence Baptist Church 163rd Church Anniversary and the Designation of OPBC as a Chicago Landmark.

Our Banquet is set for Friday June 26th- 6pm at Elmcrest Banquet Hall: an epic night of elegance and entertainment! Rev. Dr. William H. Foster, Senior Pastor of Providence Baptist Church, is our Banquet Speaker.

Then on Sunday Morning June 28th at 11am, we will culminate our celebration with a powerful Worship & Word Experience filled with melodious music and powerful preaching. The Rev. Dr. Oscar T. Moses from Calvary Baptist Church - Salt Lake City, Utah will be our guest speaker!
