Calvary Baptist Church of Chicago joyfully celebrated Resurrection Sunday—also known as Easter—the culmination of Holy Week and a powerful reminder of Christ’s victory over sin, death, and despair, bringing renewed hope for eternal life.

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful for our Interim Pastor, Rev. Dr. Naomi Mitchell, who was joined by her husband, Rev. Dr. Joel Mitchell, Pastor of Hyde Park Union Church in Hyde Park. Dear Calvary Sisters in Christ,

As we close out Women's Month, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for each of you. This month has been incredibly special, and it simply wouldn't have been the same without your willingness to step up, lead, and share.

To those who stood before us and shared your stories: thank you for your vulnerability and courage. Your testimonies reminded us of God's faithfulness, healed hearts, and brought us closer together as a family.

To those who took on leadership roles: thank you for your time, energy, and vision. You created spaces where we could all grow spiritually and connect deeply. A special dedication goes out to sister Vicki JN Pierre. Thank you for bringing your story to our hearts.

You are all a beautiful reflection of God’s grace, and I am so blessed we are serving together.
