Today, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Mr. Spencer Leak, Jr., the Leak family, and the entire team at Leak & Sons Funeral Homes during this season of loss.

Over the years, Mr. Leak and his family have faithfully served countless families throughout the Chicago community with compassion, dignity, and excellence during some of life’s most difficult moments. At Union Tabernacle, we are especially grateful for the partnership and care they have extended to our church family and to Pastor Walter Carter III as they have walked alongside many of our members in times of bereavement.

As they now experience grief firsthand, we pray that God will surround them with His comfort, strength, and peace. May they find encouragement in the countless lives they have touched and the legacy of service they have built within our community.

🔥 Pentecost Sunday at Union Tabernacle 🔥

What a powerful move of God we experienced on Pentecost Sunday!

Pastor Carter delivered a convicting and timely message from Joel 2:28-32 entitled: “The Promise of the Pouring.” The Word reminded us that God still pours out His Spirit, still calls His people to repentance, and still empowers believers for such a time as this.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh…” — Joel 2:28

The Legacy Banquet was truly a beautiful celebration of purpose, impact, and years of faithful service.

Pastor Walter Carter III and Lady Janeen Carter are incredibly grateful for every person who showed up, supported, served, and celebrated. Your presence, your love, and your generosity did not go unnoticed.

Legacy isn’t just what you build, it’s what you pour into people. And they felt that all night long.

Thank you for helping us honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future.

What a powerful day of worship as we celebrated 15 years of faithful pastoral leadership for Pastor Walter Carter III! 🙌🏽

Our hearts were challenged, encouraged, and inspired through two dynamic messages:

Rev. Jeremy Meeks reminded us through Ezekiel 2:1–3:15 that “The Call You Get Isn’t Always the Call You Want.” Even when the assignment is difficult, God still calls, equips, and sends us.

Then in the afternoon service, Rev. Romell Williams Jr. preached from Acts 20:24 with the powerful reminder to “Focus on the Finish.” In a world full of distractions, obstacles, and pressure, we were encouraged to stay committed to the assignment and finish with faith, purpose, and endurance.

What a blessing to witness a full day centered around calling, commitment, and perseverance in ministry. We thank God for every worship experience, every guest, and every life impacted.
