With love and hope, we invite you to watch the recording of the ordination of Rev. Diego Garrido Barreto into the Unitarian Universalist ministry.

This beautiful and historic service brought together the communities of First Church in Chestnut Hill, First Parish in Brookline, Sanctuary Boston, clergy colleagues, friends, family, and beloved community for an afternoon filled with music, prayer, tears, hope, and celebration.

We are especially grateful for the bilingual moments, the sacred music offered by Sanctuary Boston, and the many people whose presence helped make this ordination such a meaningful witness to love, belonging, and ministry.

If you were unable to attend — or if you wish to revisit this holy day once more — we warmly invite you to watch and share the recording.

Welcome again, Rev. Diego. May your ministry continue to grow in compassion, courage, beauty, and beloved community.

THANK YOU to the beloved communities of First Parish in Brookline, The Sanctuary Boston and First Church in Chestnut Hill😁 for the holy and beautiful day we shared together.

With joy, tears, music, prayer, and deep hope, we ordained Rev. Diego Garrido Barreto into the Unitarian Universalist ministry. We celebrate his ministry, his roots, and the sacred work he continues to offer to our communities, guided by our traditions and inspired by the wisdom of his journey. Welcome, Rev. Diego!

We were deeply moved to see so many people gathered in love and support. Thank you for the Colombian food, the music offered by Sanctuary Boston, and the many hands and hearts that made this celebration possible. 🥰

The offering collected during the ordination was dedicated to Sanctuary Boston Campus Ministry and to The Living Tradition Fund, which supports Unitarian Universalist ministers throughout our denomination.

To every volunteer, donor, contributor, musician, clergy member, friend, and guest: thank you for helping Rev. Diego feel at home, held in community, and surrounded by love. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Come join the UU Urban Ministry for this year's first Community Conversation!

This conversation explores how culture functions as a form of resistance and survival. Through music, storytelling, movement, and visual art, Roxbury residents have preserved identity, nurtured belonging, and fueled movements for justice and liberation. Speakers will reflect on the role of creative expression in shaping community power and collective memory.

The featured speakers are Akili Jamal Haynes and Dayenne Walters.
