Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Watching you grow, learn, and create friendships has been the greatest privilege. Thank you for leaving your mark on our halls. Your high schools are getting an incredible group of young men and women. Never forget where you started and always believe in where you are going. Recently, our 8th graders completed their annual history day projects. The history day project is a school year long competition where students select a topic that fits into a theme, conduct research through secondary and primary sources, write a thesis statement (and essential historical questions to answer), and finally complete a science fair style board with their conclusions. This year’s theme was “American Heroes.” Three student projects were selected as this year’s winners: Hanna for her work on Vietnam Veterans, Harper for her work on Clara Barton, and Grace for her work on the “Newsboys.” Congratulations to all three of our winners and the rest of our 8th graders. Mr. Higgins could not be more proud!

In junior high music classes Adam Bitter had guests from the St. Louis Blues Society come for a visit. Ron who plays guitar and George who plays in incredible harmonica, came to share stories and history of America's own unique art form. Students had the wonderful experience of learning all about the blues, its roots and how it has evolved into the modern music we listen to today. From Country, Gospel, Rock & Roll, to Jazz, Hip Hop, and R&B all of it has its roots in the blues. The highlight was at the end of class they got to create their own blues song!

Field Day was a huge success! We want to thank all of the parent volunteers who ran the activities and helped with so many other things. All of our students, faculty, and staff had a lot of fun. A big THANK YOU to Tori Gorczyca, Lori Hoag, and Courtney Powell for planning and organizing the day. It was a day full of great activities, great competition, and great sportsmanship!
