Rectory: 314-434-4211 The St. Monica Church was built in 1872.

The school was erected in 1873. In 1872 St. Monica was established as a Mission Church. The current church building is the third since the parish began. It was built in 1960-61 and enlarged in 1980-81. In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of St. Monica, a statue of St. Monica was erected and can be seen at the entrance of the church.

* She was born in 331 in Tagaste (modern day Algeria) and died in 387 in Ostia, Italy.
*She  was married to a pagan man named Patricius and was the mother of Saint Augustine, a major thinker, and Doctor of the church. 
* She is famous for her deep faith and years of constant prayer, which eventually led both her husband and her son to convert to Christianity.
