“We give you thanks, most gracious God, for the beauty of earth and sky and sea; for the richness of mountains, plains, and rivers; for the songs of birds and the loveliness of flowers.”

On Sunday, May 24, the Houghton University Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Kevin Dibble, gave a wonderful concert at St. Thomas. Titled "An Ever-Present Help," the program included sacred works by Clausen, Whitacre, Stroope, Cornwell, Esenvalds, Arnesen, Paulus, and Hogan. They performed the entire program a ca****la (without accompaniment). It was a privilege to host these amazing musicians and people!

Join other parishioners from the diocese for the Episcopal Pride Eucharist at Christ & St. Luke's.

Come to our Diocesan Pride Eucharist next Wednesday, June 3, 6:00 p.m. — Join Bishop Susan B. Haynes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our church affirming that LGBTQ+ people have a full and equal claim to the love, acceptance, and pastoral care of the church. The journey to make that promise a reality continues today, as we remember the struggles, celebrate the joy, and give thanks for love and for lives that refuse to be erased. The Rev. Charles Lane Cowen, Rector of St. Andrew’s, Norfolk, will preach. All are welcome! Childcare is available.

On Saturday, the St. Thomas Choir enjoyed a joyful morning in workshop with Billye Brown Youmans, music director of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church! We learned about breathing, phrasing, keeping our voices healthy, and how excellent sacred music helps us and those we serve enter the presence of God.
