What does it mean to truly raise the wise? This week, we explored one of the most convicting passages in all of Scripture -- Proverbs 22:6 -- and the weight of what it means to dedicate a child to the purposes of God.

Solomon's charge is not passive. To "train up a child in the way he should go" means intentional, deliberate discipleship -- filling their lives with the Word, letting them hear you pray, letting them see you repent. The church can support parents, but it cannot replace them.

And here is the foundation beneath all of it: we disciple our children out of the overflow of our own adoption into God's family. We give because we have received. We pass on what has been entrusted to us.

What you receive, you faithfully pass on. That is the call.

What happens to our hearts when we have more than enough?

Wealth can deceive us into finding security, significance, or identity in what we have rather than in Christ.

Paul gives us the right perspective in Philippians 3

**The question isn’t just how much we have—it’s what place our wealth has in our hearts.**

Christ is worth more than everything.

**Consistent Godliness ≠ Perfection**

God isn’t calling us to flawless living—He’s calling us to faithful living.

Biblical integrity isn’t about never stumbling. It’s about walking consistently with God in every area of our lives, and when we fall, turning back to Him and continuing to grow.

Don’t confuse the call to godliness with a demand for perfection. **The goal isn’t flawlessness. The goal is faithfulness.**

Proverbs reminds us that pride leads to destruction, while humility leads to honor. But nowhere do we see this truth more clearly than in the life of Jesus.

Christ humbled Himself, became obedient, and willingly gave Himself for our sins. And because of His humility, God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name.

Jesus was the perfect example of true humility—the perfect man and the perfect sacrifice.

As we continue our study in Proverbs, may we ask ourselves: **Am I seeking to exalt myself, or am I willing to humble myself and trust God with the honor?**

Work isn't just something to get through—it's an opportunity to worship.

Whether you're building, teaching, answering emails, stocking shelves, studying for an exam, or serving in retirement, every task can become an offering to God when it's done with excellence, integrity, and joy.

Proverbs 6 reminds us to learn from the ant—diligent, faithful, and intentional in the work set before it. What if we approached every assignment with that same mindset? What if our work wasn't just about earning a paycheck, but about honoring the One who gave us the ability to work?

*"Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise."* — Proverbs 6:6

Not all anger is sinful.

The book of Proverbs teaches us that there is a kind of anger that honors God. It's not fueled by pride or revenge—it's shaped by His heart.

Good anger is:
• Felt in the heart, but slow to act.
• Filtered through God's Word.
• Modeled after Jesus.
• Directed at sin and what grieves God—not at personal offense.
• Restrained, trusting God's perfect justice instead of demanding our own.

As followers of Christ, we remember that we've been made in God's image and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. That changes how we respond—even when we're angry.

One of the greatest threats to unity isn't always what we say—it's the posture of our hearts.

Beware of **selfish talk**.
Beware of **selfish listening**.

When everything becomes about our preferences, our opinions, or what we want to hear, we lose sight of Christ and His mission.

May God give us hearts that are quick to listen, slow to speak, and eager to build one another up.

Every one of us is feasting somewhere.

The question is: What table are you sitting at?

Wisdom invites us to leave behind the things that promise satisfaction but never truly deliver. Saying "yes" to God's wisdom often means saying "no" to something else.

Where is God calling you to repent? What do you need to walk away from so you can take your seat at His table?

In Proverbs 8, wisdom is not presented as something new, temporary, or experimental.

Wisdom has always been with God.

When God tells us how to live, He is not guessing. He is not testing out ideas. He is not offering advice that may or may not work.

He speaks with wisdom that existed before the world was made.

That means God’s instruction is not outdated, random, or uncertain.

The One who made the world is the One who knows how life is meant to be lived.
