Presbytery of West Virginia

Presbytery of West Virginia A baptized covenant people called by God to reflect Christ’s love in mission, ministry, relationships

About two-thirds of our congregations are identified as small churches with fewer than 100 members. We are responsible for the mission and government of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its congregations throughout 41 counties of our state (plus Proctorville, OH). We assist in making connections between local congregations and the mission of the more inclusive governing bodies of our church. W

e also provide inspirational leadership and resources to congregations for faithful, vital ministry and witness, to the end that congregations move beyond survival to mission.

Presbytery of West Virginia Receives Fit for the Future Grant from Synod of the Trinity

The Presbytery of West Virginia was recently awarded $30,000 through the Synod Trinity's Fit for the Future Grant. With the purpose of encouraging presbyteries “to take concrete steps toward missional and/or ecclesiastical changes that will position them for continued ministry effectiveness over the next ten years,” this grant will enable creating space for churches in the Presbytery of West Virginia to meet and collaborate, and to invite the work of the Holy Spirit within our Presbytery and churches; welcoming God’s vision.
