The Fourteenth Station of the Cross: Jesus is Laid in the Sepulcher (Matthew 27:57-60)

πŸ™ Joseph of Arimathea took the body of Jesus then placed it in a new tomb. A seal was placed upon the rock and guards set. The world waits in silent hope for the Redeemer. The seed sown in darkness that will bring forth new life. Help prepare our hearts so that we may receive His gift!

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Thirteenth Station of the Cross: The Body of Jesus is Taken Down

πŸ™ Jesus' body is removed from the cross by His disciples and received by His Mother, Mary. She and the other women clean and anoint the body of Jesus. They wrap Him in a clean linen sheet in preparation for burial. May we die to ourselves so that we may rise to new life with Christ.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Twelfth Station of the Cross: Jesus Dies on the Cross (Luke 23:44-46)

πŸ™ As darkness covered the earth, the temple veil was torn in two and Jesus commended His spirit to the Father. Jesus revealed the face of the Father with His whole-hearted love. May we reflect this love as we care for those around us.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Eleventh Station of the Cross: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross (Luke 23:33-34)

πŸ™ Jesus is nailed to the cross between two thieves. He does not drink the gall offered to Him to dull the pain, instead He chooses to experience the fullness of suffering. Suffering for our sins. When we are faced with physical discomforts, help us to ask for the grace to suffer willingly and unite ourselves more fully to Christ.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Tenth Station of the Cross: Jesus' Clothes Are Taken Away (John 19:23-24)

πŸ™ Jesus is stripped of His clothing, made completely vulnerable for love of us. Lord, help us to examine our hearts with a spirit of vulnerability and love so that we may fully allow You to enter into every aspect of our lives.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Ninth Station of the Cross: Jesus Falls the Third Time

πŸ™ Physically weary and broken, Jesus falls a third time on His way to Calvary. Sometimes the weight of the world overwhelms us and seems too much to bear. Lord, grant us grace to persevere, clinging to Your cross.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Eighth Station of the Cross: Jesus Meets the Women (Luke 23:28-31)

πŸ™ Jesus tells the women not to weep for Him, He gives His life freely. Rather they are to weep for themselves and their children who will turn away from God in rebellion. We pray for the grace to turn our hearts back to our Creator and be filled with love.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Seventh Station of the Cross: Jesus Falls the Second Time

πŸ™ As we reach the midpoint of our journey, the struggles feel heavier and more burdensome. Help us to remember the purpose of the crosses in our life, especially those that we do not choose for ourselves. Unite us more perfectly to yourself, Lord.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Sixth Station of the Cross: Veronica Wipes Jesus' Face

πŸ™ As Veronica was moved with pity to wipe the face of Jesus with her veil, help our hearts to be open to suffering that surrounds us. May the Holy Spirit prompt us to offer what we can so that we bear Christ's image to the world.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Fifth Station of the Cross: Simon of Cyrene Helps Jesus (Mark 15:21)

πŸ™ Help us to be aware and attentive to the needs that surround us. We pray that we might have the strength to lift the burden of others, if even for a moment, through our words and actions.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Fourth Station of the Cross: Jesus Meets His Mother (John 19: 26-27)

πŸ™ We turn to Mary in times of struggle and distress, knowing that she always leads us to her Son. As Mary's beloved children, with great confidence we seek her intercession and maternal care. Help us to fully embrace God's will for our lives.

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You.

Because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.
