Today we rejoice in the birth of Mary, the Mother of God and our Mother. Her life was a gift prepared by God to bring forth the Savior of the world.

The Church teaches that in celebrating Mary’s birth, we honor the dawn of salvation, for through her “yes” Christ entered the world.

May we follow her example of humility and trust, and may her intercession lead us ever closer to her Son, Jesus.

🙏 Blessed Mother, pray for us.

Pope Leo XIV appointed Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly as a member of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life on Aug. 25.

Established in 2016 by Pope Francis, the dicastery promotes the vocation and mission of the lay faithful, the pastoral care of young people, the family and the elderly, and the protection of human life. Its responsibilities also include organizing World Youth Days and support for lay movements and associations throughout the Church. The dicastery is headed by Cardinal Kevin J. Farrell, a former state chaplain of Texas.

“Great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” — Matthew 15:28

In today’s Gospel, a Canaanite woman refuses to give up. She approaches Jesus with humility, persistence, and complete trust, believing that even the smallest measure of His mercy is enough. Her faith becomes the path to healing for her daughter.

This Gospel reminds us never to lose heart in prayer. Even when God's timing is different from our own, He hears every cry of faith and invites us to trust Him with confidence and perseverance.

🙏 Lord, strengthen our faith, deepen our trust in Your mercy, and help us persevere in prayer, knowing that You always hear those who call upon You.

On the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we celebrate our hope in the promise of eternal life.

Mary, assumed body and soul into heaven, shows us where a life of faithfulness to God ultimately leads. Her life points always to her Son, and her Assumption reminds us that we, too, are called to share in Christ’s victory over death.

May Our Lady, Queen of Heaven, intercede for us, for our families and for the whole Church, and help us follow her example of humble trust and joyful obedience.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Whether you’re a Knight, a family member, or simply inspired by his witness, today is an opportunity to thank God for the life of Blessed Michael McGivney and ask for his intercession.
