The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates a new beginning, the birth of Mary and the life of faith that unfolded through her “yes” to God.

For many Sisters of Notre Dame, September 8 also marks a significant milestone in their devotion. At 13 years old, they entered Notre Dame Academy as aspirants to begin their journey toward religious life. Their entrance represented a distinct chapter of discernment, growth and commitment.

As we celebrate Mary’s birth, we reflect on the beginnings shaping our lives and how God calls us to grow into who we are meant to become.

Thank you, Sister Anne Mary Molyet for this beautiful reminder on this Motivation Monday!

God is always at work and brings us a new opportunity to answer His call each day. May we carry that faith with us and remain open to the ways God will guide us. 💙

During this Season of Creation, we are studying the interconnectedness of care for our common home and care for vulnerable communities.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a humanitarian program established by Congress that provides temporary legal status and work authorization for people from countries experiencing armed conflict, environmental disasters or extraordinary unsafe conditions.

We are asking the Senate to pass S. 4814 and designate Haiti for Temporary Protected Status, join us in advocacy at www.sndusa.org/votervoice

Rosie Chinea Shawver, executive director of the Catholic Campus Ministry Association, says young adults are increasingly seeking authentic faith, meaningful community and opportunities to serve. Drawing on her experience in campus ministry at the University of Southern California, she has witnessed a growing interest in Scripture, small groups, Eucharistic adoration and service. Through CCMA, she continues to equip campus ministers to help young adults deepen their faith, build lasting community and answer the call to discipleship.

Welcome, Season of Creation. The Season of Creation is September 1 through October 4. The 2026 theme, “Living Water,” draws from Ezekiel’s vision of water bringing healing, renewal and new life to creation.

For the Sisters of Notre Dame, this connects deeply with our Water for Life Corporate Stance. We revere water as a sacred gift and are called to protect creation and work for a more just and sustainable world.
