Eckankar is a spiritual path that shows people how to live, give, and love to their highest potential They are part of everyday life for millions of people.

We live in a time of unprecedented interest in spirituality. Spiritual experiences are no longer the exclusive domain of religious leaders, saints, and mystics. And these people have questions: Are their experiences real? What do they mean? How can a person have more experiences of the Divine? Eckankar offers tools, techniques, and answers. The teachings provide a framework for people to explore their own spiritual experiences, which may include out-of-body adventures, near-death experiences, prophetic dreams, dreams with a departed loved one, a sense of having lived before, déjà vu, seeing an inner light, or hearing an inner sound. Direct personal experience with the Light and Sound of God is the cornerstone of the ECK teachings. People who truly find these two aspects of God undergo a complete spiritual change. Life becomes new again, as it was in early childhood. Sri Doug Kunin is the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, spiritual leader of Eckankar. He has the special ability to act as both the Inner and Outer guide for ECK students. As the spiritual leader of Eckankar, he is given respect but is not worshipped. He focuses on helping people cultivate a direct, personal relationship with Divine Spirit and realize their highest spiritual potential. He teaches the sacred name of God, HU. When sung just a few minutes each day, HU can lift you spiritually into the Light and Sound of God—the ECK (Holy Spirit). To experience the sound of HU, visit www.HearHU.org.

“What we're called to is self-generating happiness. Self-sustaining happiness is possible because every Soul is foreordained to joy, love, and wisdom. You don't need to wait. You can claim eternity now."
—Sri Doug Kunin, At the Ocean's Edge

The Temple of ECK in Chanhassen, Minnesota, is the worldwide center for the Eckankar teachings. Located at the heart of the Eckankar Spiritual Campus, it is a local community church and a Golden Wisdom Temple. Seekers of truth come here for the spiritual study of past lives, dreams, and Soul Travel. Eckankar is a spiritual path that redefines the experience of religion. It doesn't ask you to believe, it invites you to experience. To learn more about Eckankar, explore our answers to frequently asked questions at www.eckankar.org/explore/faqs/.

As Soul we are looking only for experience, whether it’s in this world or in the other worlds.

What is the relationship of Soul to God? Soul is the essence of God. Soul is not God—It could never be God. We can never be one with God, although we can be one with Spirit.

God created Soul outside the parameters of time and space. Soul is without beginning or ending.

Some people believe Soul comes into existence at the birth of the infant, but this is not quite an accurate belief. If it were, then Soul would not be eternal, because Soul would have a beginning in this finite world. But Soul has existed before the birth of the child.

A person who lives in the holiness of the moment is always looking for the potential of whatever that moment may bring. Always.

As Soul, you owe yourself the experience of going out in life and getting the richest, fullest experiences you can.

Build your spiritual foundation carefully so when the psychic waves come, bringing doubt and fear, problems, and health situations, you will be strong enough to see and know why you are going through this, and that it will pass. Whatever is here today must one day pass. It’s the nature of life. Spring gives us the example: Nature renews itself each year; it renews all life.

When today is different from yesterday, we accept it. This is called living in the detached state of consciousness. We accept what we have here in the moment, without any regrets for the past.
