King Street Church

King Street Church The mission of King Street Church is to engage and bless our community with the Gospel. We have been serving this community since May, 1878.

It was begun by a group of people who had a concern for Biblical application to daily life and the unity of God's people. We continue to focus upon these same values today. Throughout the years of its existence, King Street has sought to be an important asset to the community through its cooperative ministries with other community agencies and churches and through the giving spirit of its people.

Today, King Street provides traditional and contemporary worship experiences, far-reaching ministries, impactful small groups, and a caring community of more than 1,700 people. We invite you to join with us as we Connect, Grow, Serve and Share.

Experience MORE. This morning Pastor Aaron preached the message, "Obadiah," the first in our new series, "Small Books, Big Voices." The questions below are intended to help us deepen our understanding of today's sermon and our relationship with God. You are encouraged to answer them in your own devotions or in community with other people.

1. We do not take comfort in retributive justice, but in a God who is just. Why do you think this is important for our relationships?

2. The Author of Hebrews says that the blood of Jesus Christ speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. This means that while crying out and asking God for justice is right (Genesis 4:10 and Hebrews 11:4), it does not ultimately satisfy us or make us right with God. If there are situations in your life where you have cried out to God for justice but have not yet received it, take some time to reflect on Christ and his life given/his blood shed for you.

3. Scripture consistently warns of rivalry and uneasy peace in relationships. Do you have important, ongoing relationships that need to stop being competitive or where there needs to be a stronger peace? While relationships require both participants for health, is there a role you have to play in helping these relationships toward health? What is it?

King Street Church has partnered with She's Somebody's Daughter for many years. It is a ministry that fights against human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of women. This past Sunday we welcomed Amy Thurston from Hope Inspire Love to explain that they share the same mission, and are actually merging with She's Somebody's Daughter. That collaboration is OFFICIAL and we celebrate with both ministries. πŸ™ŒπŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰

She’s Somebody’s Daughter is becoming part of Hope Inspire Love, bringing together two organizations with a deep commitment to serving individuals experiencing sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Learn more about the merger at HopeInspireLove.org/merger
