Don’t let the enemy rob you of having a good day.
We often let our thoughts get the best of us. Maybe we had a negative encounter at home, at work, or even driving down the road when someone cut us off. If we dwell on those things, they can easily dictate how the rest of our day unfolds.
Remember Paul’s words to the church in Philippi:
“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” — Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
Paul understood hardship. He knew what it was like to face opposition, disappointment, uncertainty, and circumstances that seemed unfair. Yet he encouraged believers to intentionally shift their focus away from the negativity around them and toward the goodness of God.
Negative things will happen. People will let us down. Plans will change. Challenges will come. But we have a choice in what we allow our minds to dwell on.
Today, choose to focus on what is excellent and worthy of praise. Fix your eyes on Jesus rather than your circumstances. When your focus changes, your perspective changes. And when your perspective changes, your day often gets a whole lot better.
Don’t give the enemy the victory by surrendering your peace. Keep your eyes on Christ and trust Him with the rest.
