Hildy Devotion for 6-10-26
Today everyone at church celebrated my birthday. At home mom put me on my grooming table, brushed me pretty and put a scarf on me that tells everyone, “It’s my birthday.” I am 1 year old this week. I am so proud. Then mom and I drove to church, where I greeted all my friends! Then they sang., “Happy Birthday,” to me. They all ate ice cream while I ate a special treat. I had never had a treat like that before, it was really good. I’m so happy everyone wanted to celebrate with me. Then we all went to church and they prayed and had communion, while I watched. Now I’m tired. I think I will take a nap. It’s been a good day.
Hildegard wrote: I saw the likeness of a beautiful girl shining with a splendor so bright that I could not look upon her properly, because she reveals the awe of the Lord. She represents God’s love at the beginning of time. All creatures of the earth and all of creation acknowledged the beautiful girl. God ordered all God’s works in a great burning fire of love, from which all things came. The image of the girl is God’s love watching over all of creation and all the creatures of the earth bow to God’s love. May we see God’s love in all of nature, and all the amazing creatures God created that fill the earth. On this week of Hildy’s birthday, let’s pray that we preserve
and care for the creatures we share this planet with.
We come before you with heavy hearts, witnessing the rapid loss of Earth’s precious biodiversity. Creator of all life, we humbly ask for your guidance and strength to protect the intricate tapestry of species that inhabit our planet. Grant us the wisdom to make conscious choices that promote biodiversity conservation, preserving the wonders of your creation for generations to come.
In your divine wisdom, help us understand that each species, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, plays a crucial role in the delicate balance of life. We pray for the restoration of ecosystems and the revival of species on the brink of extinction. May we find the resolve to join hands in this sacred mission of preserving your divine creation. We thank you for the diverse web of life that enriches our world, and we seek your blessings on our endeavors to safeguard it. Amen.
