Starts this Sunday!

September Sermon Series:
We Are the Church

What does it really mean to be the church?

This September, we’ll spend four Sundays exploring what it means to live as God’s people in community. Scripture reminds us that each of us has gifts to share, that God’s welcome extends beyond the boundaries we sometimes create, and that faith is something we live out together through service, relationship, compassion, and care for one another.

We’ll begin by considering our own place and gifts, turn toward how we receive and make room for others, celebrate what becomes possible when we serve together on Celebration Sunday, and finally widen our view to the wonderfully diverse community of all God’s people.

September 6 — I Am the Church
Romans 12:3–8
Paul reminds us that the church is one body made up of people with many different gifts—and none of those gifts is insignificant. This week, we’ll consider what each of us has been given to offer and how even seemingly small gifts become part of something much greater when joined with the gifts of others.

"For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one b...

"For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another."

Romans 12:4–5

Sit with that one this week. We worship Sundays at 10 AM and would love to see you there.

We are suspicious of anyone who claims to have God entirely figured out, ourselves included. Faith here leaves room for mystery, for revision, and for the occasional discussion held in love. Come bring your questions to a place that likes them. Worship is Sundays at 10 AM.

This Sunday we're sitting with a question that might stay with you all week: "What have you been pretending not to notice?" Moses was tending sheep on an ordinary day when something stopped him in his tracks. Pastor explores Exodus 3:1-15 and the things we sometimes walk right past. Join us Sunday at 10 AM. All are welcome.
