Welcome to St. Peter’s, Roman Mayard!

We are blessed to welcome Roman Mayard, our summer seminarian, to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Please join us in extending a warm parish welcome to Roman as he spends the summer with our community, grows in his formation, and continues discerning God’s call to the priesthood. We are grateful for his “yes” to the Lord and look forward to getting to know him during his time here at St. Peter’s.

Let us keep Roman, and all of our seminarians, in our prayers as they continue preparing to serve Christ and His Church.

Welcome, Roman! We are glad you are here.

Hurricane season officially begins today, June 1st, and will end on November 30, 2026. We invite you to join us in praying the following prayer, composed in 1957 by The Most Reverend Maurice Schexnayder, Second Bishop of Lafayette, following Hurricane Audrey:

O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude. You are still the Master of the land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, and overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land, and spread chaos and disaster.

During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son on our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a stormless eternity awaits us. Amen.

St. Peter parishioners — it’s our turn to rally behind Fr. Cambre! 🙌

Fr. Cambre is participating in The Light Project’s upcoming trivia fundraiser, and our parish has a chance to help him, his team, and this beautiful mission climb the leaderboard.

Here’s how it works:

💡 Each donation adds “Wisdom Watts” to Fr. Cambre’s total.
🏆 The Collar who raises the most earns a special “Divine Intervention” — a trivia-night advantage that could help change the game.
👑 And of course… bragging rights are absolutely on the line.

Every contribution helps support the mission of The Light Project while adding a little friendly competition between our local priests and parishes.

Let’s show up for Fr. Cambre and St. Peter! Help us light up the leaderboard. 💡

Join us and Pope Leo XIV as we pray a Global Rosary for Peace TODAY at NOON

To accompany his constant calls for peace in the world, Pope Leo XIV will lead the prayer of the Holy Rosary on May 30 at 7:00 PM Rome time from the Vatican Gardens.

He will lead the faithful in Shrines around the world in praying the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.

The first mystery prays for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable, while the second is for those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to populations affected by war. The third recalls the medical and paramedical personnel and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid every day.

The fourth mystery prays for those who suffer the violence of war, for prisoners and for all who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery is dedicated to praying for an end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.
