INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK —

Plenty of people are drawn to Jesus. Curious about him. Inspired by him. But can they carry the cross? Today, Jesus tells us that we cannot have one without the other — it is Christ and the cross, or nothing at all. Which will we choose?

Dear God,

Be with Our Holy Father in his ministry. Bless, anoint, and protect him in his comings and goings. Inspire his words, direct his interactions, guide his prayer. Amen.

Today is the Feast of St. Bartholomew!
Fun Fact: St. Bartholomew was one of Jesus' closest friends. Tradition holds that he served as a missionary after Jesus rose from the dead, traveling as far as India and Armenia to preach the Gospel.

The Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary is this weekend! In ancient Israel, the king's mother was honored as the Queen Mother, and so we do the same with Mary today. Hail, Holy Queen!
