A prayer written by an inmate: Psalm 51:1
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love.
For your steadfast love is present in my life, through every trial and every strife.
You have been consistent and always true, as the sunrise and morning dew.
I lift my head in times of pain, sorrow floods my heart in the pouring rain.
For I know my spirit you did create, but sins and chains have been my fate.
Please, O Lord, let this sentence be the last, for I am new in you and no longer the past.
I know the prayers you answered in my life, for your HESED* love in my beautiful wife.
Though all my tears are not all fears, please give me courage so that I can hear.
And trust the man you show me in the mirror, as I continue on the path of this endeavor,
Let my faith be steadfast and always forever.
Thank you Father,
Amen
