WE'RE GETTING CLOSER ❤️

The 2026 Season of The Living Word Outdoor Drama is just a little over two weeks away. Preparations have been under way now for a few weeks as the organization is excited to present the 52nd year of Ohio's ONLY Outdoor Passion Play to our guests. 🙌

Today, we hosted a Work Day and all of the flower beds have been mulched and The Welcome Center Circle has been painted. (Stay tuned for incredible news on that project in the coming days). God is sooooo good.

The new season begins Friday June 19 and runs Fridays through October 2 (Closed July 3 and September 4 for the holiday weekends). For more information about The Living Word here in Cambridge, Ohio, call 740-439-2761.

A GLORIOUS MORNING 🌞

We are sooooooo blessed here at The Living Word Outdoor Drama to have all of the wonderful actors and actresses that God supplies within our ministry. Of course, the three men - George Clark, John Arnett and Logan Hill - who portray Jesus Christ get a lot of attention and it's well deserved (but as we all say and the three men say ... ALL Glory goes to The Father above).

But the "star" of the show may very well be our historic 400-foot panoramic set that is one of the most authentic representations of Old Jerusalem in the United States. We do pray and hope that you will come and visit our set, and witness Ohio's ONLY Outdoor Passion Play (the second largest in the U.S.) this Summer.

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL

14 Tourism Organizations Receive Grants from the Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors & Convention Bureau

CAMBRIDGE, OHIO – The Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors & Convention Bureau has named 14 local organizations as recipients of the 2026 Grant Assistance Program (GAP).

For 13 years, the Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors & Convention Bureau has proudly offered local nonprofit organizations the opportunity to stretch their marketing dollars through the Grant Assistance Program (GAP). The local program assists qualified non-profit tourism events, organizations and businesses to “fill in the gap” through advertising and promotion of activities that directly increase lodging occupancy, create positive publicity and enhance the tourism environment in the Cambridge/Guernsey County area. The VCB has committed $40,000 in its 2026 budget to marketing events and promotions that demonstrate positive tourism potential.

This year’s recipients are:
• Cambridge Lions Club
• Cambridge Main Street
• Cambridge Performing Art Center
• Dickens Victorian Village
• Guernsey County Community Development Corporation
• Guernsey County Historical Society
• Living Free Events
• National Museum of Cambridge Glass
• National Whitetail Deer Education Center
• Ohio Hills Festival
• Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center
• Salt Fork Arts & Crafts Festival
• The Living Word Outdoor Drama
• The Wilds

The goals of the program are simple:
• Increase overnight stays in Cambridge/Guernsey County
• Promote a positive image and increase visibility of the county’s attractions
• Increase expenditures by visitors to Cambridge/Guernsey County
• Provide programs and activities beneficial to drawing additional tourists from a 100+ mile radius
• Feature new or expanded events, projects or programs

Grants were made available from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $5,000 and were contingent upon the number of overnight stays the event, project or program generates.

OLDER ADULT EXTRAVAGANZA

The Living Word Outdoor Drama had the opportunity to participate in the Area Agency on Aging Region 9 Older Adult Extravaganza yesterday at The Pritchard-Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge, Ohio from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We were able to pass out nearly 500 brochures to guests who stopped by our booth and even gave out some free tickets to see Ohio's ONLY Outdoor Passion Play. We enjoyed all of the conversations and are excited about the 2026 Season, which begins Friday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. and runs Fridays through October 2 (Closed July 3 and September 4 for the holiday weekends).

CROSS VIEWING SECTION UPDATE

The Cross Viewing Section is the latest project here at The Living Word Outdoor Drama in Cambridge, Ohio. At the end of last month, Jack Warne Construction broke ground on three 10x10 concrete pads, which has two four-foot, white vinyl posts in the back and two two-foot white vinyl posts in the front, and as of today (May 7) ... all posts are capped with solar lights.

Two weeks ago, Board Co-Treasurer Dave Milligan and Executive Director Heath Dawson picked up three six-foot composite benches for each pad that Melinda McCollum purchased for the project. One bench is in honor of her late husband Guy, and two other ladies donated funds ($1,000.00) in memory of their late husbands - Joellen Sichina, in memory of Ty, and Bev Moore in memory of Jim. Thanks ladies!!!!!

We also want to thank The Guernsey County Community Development Corporation and it's Executive Director Ron Gombeda for its belief in The Living Word and we greatly appreciate its partnership. 🙌

We can't wait to debut the pads this summer during our 2026 Season, which begins Friday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. and runs Fridays through October 2 (Closed July 3 and September 4 for the holiday weekends).

ALSO ... BIG OPPORTUNITY ... We are currently seeking donations to complete our Welcome Center Circle project, which will allow The Living Word to install an ADA handicapped crosswalk from The Welcome Center to The Welcome Center Circle. The current grass circle, will be replaced with stamped concrete to represent a street in Jerusalem. We ask everyone to pray that the Lord provides the final $15,000.00 for this project. We’d be glad to give you more information if you are interested in partnering with us on this project. Contributions may be sent ONLY to The Living Word Outdoor Drama, P.O. WE INVITE OUR SPECIAL GUESTS

Hello everyone. We hope you're having a great Spring thus far. We can't wait to see you this Summer here at The Living Word Outdoor Drama in Cambridge, Ohio.

If you have been here in the past several seasons, you probably have noticed the many upgrades - seating, lighting, parking, etc., we have made around our facilities. We strive to continue improving our grounds and making them more visitor-friendly, especially for our Special Needs & Handicapped guests.

We wanted to remind everyone that The Handicapped / Special Needs Facility (made possible via grants from The Cambridge Kiwanis Foundation, The Columbus Foundation and Rotary Club of Cambridge written by Living Word Executive Director Heath Dawson) and The Handicapped / Special Needs Pavilion (made possible via grants from Guernsey Industries and The Cambridge / Guernsey County Visitor's & Convention Bureau written by Living Word Executive Director Heath Dawson) will be open this Summer for usage. We ask that the designated spaces remain available for our handicapped / special needs guests. These two projects totaling near $30,000 are just two examples of the ministry continuing to grow here at The Living Word. We want to thank Jack Warne Construction for completing both projects.

WE LOVE OUR "VISITORS"

We always love when God's special creatures visit us at The Living Word Outdoor Drama here in Cambridge, Ohio. We often see deer around our grounds and it's always exciting to see them.

THINGS ARE IN BLOOM 🌸🌸🌸

There is always excitement here at The Living Word Outdoor Drama when things start blooming because that signals a new season of Ohio's ONLY Outdoor Passion Play is getting closer. Our grounds here are so beautiful year round and we cordially invite you to come and witness The Gospel of Jesus Christ at our amphitheatre this Summer.

CROSS VIEWING SECTION NEARLY DONE

The Cross Viewing Section is the latest project at The Living Word Outdoor Drama in Cambridge, Ohio. On Monday, Jack Warne Construction broke ground on three 10x10 concrete pads, which has two four-foot, white vinyl posts in the back and two two-foot white vinyl posts in the front, and all posts will be capped with Jerusalem style solar lanterns.

Yesterday, the fellas at Jack Warne Construction continued work and the project is now basically done. Board Co-Treasurer Dave Milligan and Executive Director Heath Dawson will be going to pick up three six-foot composite benches for each pad that Melinda McCollum purchased to help fund the project. One bench will be in honor of her late husband Guy, and two other ladies donated funds ($1,000.00) in memory of their late husbands - Joellen Sichina, in memory of Ty, and Bev Moore in memory of Jim. Thank you ladies! Just like the women who supported Jesus' ministry in Luke 8:1-3, our ministry - Ohio's ONLY Outdoor Passion Play - is assisted in so many by loving women!!!

We also want to thank The Guernsey County Community Development Corporation and it's Executive Director Ron Gombeda for clearing the hillside this past Fall, which opened up the view into downtown Cambridge and across the countryside. The CDC has continued to believe in The Living Word and we greatly appreciate it's partnership. 🙌
