**** Today is day 2 of the missionary conference. Please note that we WILL NOT BE BROADCASTING ON FACEBOOK TODAY! Because of the region where these missionaries are located, it is dangerous for them to be speaking openly about this country. So for their safety, it will not be filmed. However . . . if you are local, there is still plenty of time to drive to Sugar Grove and see them in person this morning. And there's lunch afterwards! I know you will be blessed by what they have to say. Service starts at 11:00.

This weekend is the missions conference! It begins tonight at 6:30 tonight, with some wonderful people you are going to want to hear from:
Carley Sanders is a recent graduate of ETSU and was a leader in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, where she was discipled and introduced to missions. She is now in graduate school at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, training to become a long-term missionary with the International Mission Board. She will share about how the BCM reaches students with the gospel and disciples them to live on mission all over the world.
Jeff and Kim Crus served for 22 years with the International Mission Board, reaching college students in the Philippines with the gospel, discipling them and training them to go out as missionaries. They are now back home in East Tennessee, where Jeff is a Baptist collegiate ministry leader and Kim works with the Tennessee Baptist churches to strengthen and build their missions discipleship.
We will enjoy an ice cream fellowship immediately following the speakers.

The conference continues Sunday morning at 11:00 with Beth Moore (a different "Beth Moore") who serves as Tennessee Baptist Compassion Ministries specialist. Compassion ministries includes foster and adoption care, feeding ministries for low income families, prison ministries, addiction recovery programs, Pro-life clinics, and much more.
And we conclude with long-term international mission board missionaries serving in an unreached country in Southeast Asia. Their people are "Unreached" meaning the vast majority have never heard the gospel and know nothing about Jesus. They have two children who will be with them, and they will be sharing about what it's like to live and work among the unreached and what strategies and approaches they are using to engage people with the gospel.
We will have a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall immediately following these guests.
There will be opportunities to speak with all of these people and ask any questions you may have. Everyone is invited to join us.
Sugar Grove Baptist Church in Butler invites you to join us for a special Missions Conference, August 29–30, at 925 Sugar Grove Church Road.
Acts 1:8 instructs us to share the Good News. Throughout this special weekend, we’ll hear from people who are living out that calling through missions and ministry.
Saturday evening at 6:30, we’ll hear from a recent ETSU graduate who will share about campus ministries, as well as a couple who served in the Philippines for 22 years. An ice cream social will follow!
Sunday morning at 11:00, we’ll hear from a Compassion ministry specialist from Elizabethton and a couple currently serving on the mission field in southeast Asia. A potluck lunch will follow.
Bring your family or invite a friend and come worship with us, hear what God is doing through missions, and be encouraged by the ways He is working all around. We’d love to have you join us!
