Join us this Father's Day as we celebrate the men who lead, love, serve, and invest in the lives of others. From fathers raising the next generation to men faithfully encouraging and praying for one another, we are grateful for the impact of godly men in our families, our church, and our community.

Whether you're a father, grandfather, mentor, spiritual father, or simply looking for a place to belong, know that you are valued here. Come worship with us, hear an encouraging message, and celebrate all that God is doing through the men in our lives.

There is nothing the presence of God cannot do. He is still transforming families, bringing healing where there is brokenness, and changing lives today. And the same God who moves in the sanctuary is moving in our kids' classrooms and student ministry as well.

While adults are worshipping and growing through God's Word in the sanctuary, the same foundation is being built in the next generation. From our kids learning about Jesus to our students growing deeper in their faith, we believe every life matters and every generation has a purpose in God's Kingdom.

James L “Jim” Freeman was born on August 2, 1942 in Austin, Texas and entered into his heavenly reward on May 15, 2026.

Raised in Oak Cliff, he graduated from Adamson High School. He then went on to proudly serve his country as an Army Sergeant from 1967-69. Upon return from his service he successfully built a career in accounting and enjoyed the challenges of converting manual systems to computers.

Jim shared 47 joyful years with his wife, Angela. He cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren, making him a “Happy Pappy”. He had a deep love for Texas, football, history and classic cars especially Studebakers.

Throughout his life, Jim continued to grow in his faith, studying the Bible and volunteering at his church. Even in the final months, he deeply missed attending God’s house on Sunday mornings, often saying watching online “just wasn’t the same”.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Hazel Freeman, brother Joe and his son Frank.

He is survived by his loving wife Angela, sons Jerritt, Miciah and wife Stephanie, brother Jerry and wife Becky, and sister Susan, seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 4, 2026 at 10:30am at Ovation Church in Burleson. Burial following at 1:00pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim’s memory to his church’s building fund @ http://www.ovation.church/give and select The Nehemiah Project.
