Catholic group serving 7 churches: St. Isidore the Farmer Parish (St. Michael, St. Alphonsus, St. Columbkille, St. Patrick, St. Ann, Our Lady of Lourdes); and St.

John the Baptist Byzantine in Avella, Bulger, Burgettstown, Imperial, McDonald & Oakdale. Our fraternal organization is devoted to serving God, our country, our community and to the propagation of the Catholic Faith along these pillars: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. All practicing Catholic men 18 years of age or older who are in good standing with the Holy See may join us.

Tonight, Burgettstown Knights of Columbus Council #3440 celebrates its birthday! It was 75 years ago today that the Supreme Council in New Haven, Connecticut, approved our charter.

Knights of Columbus Bishop Hugh C. Boyle Assembly #922 held its first Installation of Assembly Officers in over a decade on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Avella. PA Master West Ken Grugel presided over the solemn ceremony aided by District Marshall Rich Seaman, Color Corps members Jack Rosati and Jared Barton. Father Luke Iyengar of St John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Avella, PA, one of the most beautiful churches within Assembly #922's jurisdiction, fulfilled the role of Faithful Friar as Faithful Navigator Christopher David Scott Scott, Faithful Captain Michael McLaughlin, Faithful Pilot Michael Christopher Michael Pierce, Faithful Purser Tom Diehl, and Faithful Admiral John Quayle were officially installed as Officers for the Fraternal Year 2026-2027. Also on hand were three time Past State Chaplain Father Bud Falkenhan, and Sir Knight Lew Nordin who will be taking over the role of District Marshall next month as Sir Knight Rich Seaman advances to the role of Western Section PA Master. Father Bud led the class and all assembled in the singing of the National Anthem. Jennifer Pierce and Christine Diehl were present to observe the installation of their husbands, Michael and Tom, respectively.

The Knights of Columbus Reverse Raffle was held at the Slovan VFW tonight (August15, 2026). Father Zachary Galiyas stopped by for dinner and to visit with his old parish family and brother Knights, and ended up winning $300 for having a combination of tonight's Pick 3 Winner 715 on his ticket! The big winner tonight was Jean Pleska who won $1,700. Jean is the wife of Sir Knight Peter Pleska from Burgettstown Knights of Columbus Council #3440 and Bishop Hugh C. Boyle Assembly #922. Thanks to Jim Stetar for organizing this event, for over 30 years, and helping to raise money for our Council's Charitable activities. Amy Marcucci and Sir Knights Paul Marcucci and Michael Bartoletti prepared and served food to the guests. Sir Knights Mike Gerace (Advocate) & Bob Kranak (Deputy Grand Knight), Grand Knight Grant Connors and his wife, Joanne, and Warden Mark Galish ran the entrance tables where 50/50 and Bingo sheets were sold. Sir Knights Jim Sciaretta and Gary Koenig (Financial Secretary) & Brother Brady Carter sold scratch tickets to attendees for additional chances to win. A fun time was had by all.
