If you've been thinking, praying, searching and hoping for a place to belong, we say—all are WELCOME! Bethel Lutheran Church, which was formed with only 32 members in 1917 as a Norwegian Lutheran congregation, is located on its original site just northeast of Brush Prairie. It is the home of Rocksolid Community Teen Center, which provides a safe haven at the end of the school day for 5th through 12th grade students from the Battle Ground and Hockinson School Districts. Sunday morning services at Bethel are available in person, on YouTube Live and by phone patch at 10:00 AM Sunday school classes for children through adult ages are held September 18 through May 21 at 9:00 AM. Please note, ALL TABLES HAVE BEEN FILLED, so do not accept any information from outside groups asking you to send them your fees to reserve a table. Bethel Lutheran Church is the only contact for our bazaar. Thank you!

This fall our Wednesday Bible study will begin with a look at the book of Jeremiah, the longest book in the Bible. The books of Jeremiah and Lamentations include prophetic and poetic materials that came about because of two crises facing God’s people. First, Babylonia was threatening to invade at the beginning of the 6th century B.C.E. Second, the Babylonian conquest of Judah and the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C.E. was followed by a human and religious crisis.

We encounter many voices in the pages of these books: the prophet Jeremiah, sundry kings, Jeremiah’s enemies, and a people at first defiant and later in excruciating torment. In addition, we hear the voice of God speaking through
Jeremiah and Jeremiah’s contemporaries. God, however, does not just speak “back there” and “then. ”The living God speaks to us through the Bible, this book of faith. God is revealed to us as one who will not rest until we are at last a people whose hearts and minds are molded to the image and likeness of Jesus.

Adult Sunday School Resumes on September 13 at 9 AM:
Each Sunday we look ahead to the scripture reading for the following week, reflecting
on what we hear and the questions the text brings up for us. Join us!

Starting September 13 - Bible Time for children takes place during worship service through the school year, following the scripture reading. The children return for Holy Communion and the rest of the service.
