Calvary Heritage is a Calvary Chapel with endearing spiritual roots in Applegate Christian Fellowship and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Pastor Rich served on staff at Applegate Christian Fellowship under Pastor Jon Courson for 11 years, primarily with the School of Discipleship in Carmen Serdan on the Baja, Mexico. He was also the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Rogue River for seven years before a r
eturn to the mission field as Director of the ACF church orphanage. Calvary Heritage is an inspired new work that reflects a ministerial heart with both ACF and Calvary Chapel. As such, our church operates in a similar distinctive spiritual ambience in the conduct of the worship service. It is our prayer that congregants benefit in their devotional pursuit of God as they participate in honoring Jesus through praise, while preparing their hearts for the Word. As a church, we mature through the systematic teaching style of verse by verse study of the Bible in its entirety, cover to cover. We are here as a fellowship of believers under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our sincerest desire is to know Him and honor Him as God in His church. Jesus is the reason we gather; He is the Savior who died for our sins and forgives us when we sin; He is the Servant we emulate; He is the Friend who walks with us closer than a brother, and Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor who gives us wisdom and insight for living effectively each day. As such, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are being conformed into His image. Calvary Heritage strives to not compromise for political expediency or cultural relevancy. We trust our congregants in their sincerity to love as Jesus commands us to love, and therefore, we set our minds on the things above which lead to the unity of the Body of Christ. We are to be diligent to the call of salvation, sanctification, Scripture study, and serving the Lord while obeying Him. Our prayer and hope as a church is to be a well-spring of God’s agape love to all who thirst, and to minister His Grace with compassion, humility, and mercy. Calvary Heritage believes that God’s love is superior to differences we do have, spiritual gifts we possess, and human failures we acknowledge and forsake. In showing His love for each other, we validate ourselves as disciples of Jesus, and can be certain He is perfecting all of us for His glory even through our imperfect relationships with one another. We believe an intimate and authentic relationship with God has the fruitful evidence of His Holy Spirit. Therefore, we have confidence His love manifests in the life of a congregant with joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as a confirmation that a person is humbly learning, living, caring, and giving as those who follow Christ and hope in Jesus return. We know the worship of God is to be in spirit and in truth. Therefore, we yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct us. As such, Calvary Heritage is governed to honor God in edification, exhortation, and comfort through teaching of the Scriptures, prayer, and communion. Our worship of the Lord is inspirational through psalms, hymns, and praise songs. Our worship is also intelligent with a purposed emphasis upon teaching the Word of God through which our faith grows. Most importantly, it is Jesus who is presently at work in us, through His church, to present us before our Heavenly Father without spot or wrinkle.
